The sun shined down against the earth below, it was an uncomfortably scorching hot day for early spring, or, in Miku's perspective; much better compared to the ever-so stagnant weather she was so used to.
"Do we really have to walk home in this heat?" Teto fussed, although not making much of an effort to actually pry herself from Miku's hand nor walk much faster. Allowing her best friend to essentially drag her through the unfamiliar streets.
"Would you prefer if we stood in this heat then?" Miku looked back at Teto, stopping dead in her tracks as she stared the red head down with a comically mundane smile, despite the fact a bead of sweat had already rolled down the blue haired girls eyebrow.
Teto simply stared back, not uttering a single word the rest of their unspoken back-and-fourth.
..Simply allowing themselves to stew in the sweltering heat, as if they had nothing else to do for the rest of the day, causing Teto's pleading stare to devolve into an exhausted scowl within the short amount of time they were standing.
..
"NEVERMIND, this is way, way worse than just walking, so can we go? ..Now?" And just like that, Teto had given Miku the answer she wanted, causing the latter to chuckle and continue on their path home. The both of them deciding to not speak in an attempt to conserve their energy

.... . .-. .
It didnt take much time for Teto to begin zoning out in an attempt to distract herself from what felt like a walk through hell, occasionally looking down to make sure the soles of her new shoes hadnt melted. The sound of about two trillion footsteps crashing against the concrete still welcome despite the raging headache she had.
"..Hi Basil!!" Miku called out of almost nowhere, raising her empty hand in order to wave at the boy Teto assumed was Basil, who was a few feet in front of them, practically dragging Teto down the sidewalk and only stopping once the were in front of him
Basil froze dead in his tracks, turning around as he eyed the complimentary colored duo. A look of panic spreading across his face before immediately hiding it behind a forced smile
"O-oh Miku, what a coincidence..!" Basil held his hands behind his back, quite clearly trying to come off as unassuming despite the fact he was blatantly fidgeting. Miku and Teto decided they were better off not speaking about it.

"Yea, it feels like forever since we've spoken, even if it was just yesterday!" Miku grinned, walking closer to Basil, Teto still in tow as she allowed herself to get ragdolled out of exhaustion and confusion
"..This is the guy?" Teto glanced back at Miku, receiving a quick yet discreet nod in return, something that Basil took immediate notice to.
"Ah, do you know her, Miku?" The blonde still spoke fairly quietly, just as intimidated of the red haired girl clinging onto Miku and exchanging quick whispers infront of him.
"Yea I'm Teto, Miku's.." The redheads voice trailed off, completely forgetting what she was supposed to say when introducing herself.

"C-cousin, yeah, cousin!" She eventually exclaimed, a cheery smile on her face, proud of her own improv skills
Miku shot a puzzled glance back at Teto, before looking back at Basil and forcing a smile.
-.. .- -- -- .. -
Basil was about to speak, before Miku had cut him off before he could potentially ask questions. After all, neither her nor Teto had any viable responses to any questions involving their personal lives
"A-anyways, lets walk home together, i think my house is a few blocks away from yours!" The blue haired girl exclaimed, a joyful look emerging on her face
"..Sure, i dont mind." Basil smiled, unable to bring himself to say anything other than yes. Especially when the two were staring so intensely at him.
"Yay, lets go!" Miku cheered, taking it upon herself to more or less drag the other two along their paths home without much pushback from either
The three walked throughout faraway in silence, the silence, sans the occasional icebreaker from Miku, being more uncomfortable for one than the other.
Although it didnt take much for Miku to simultaneously carry on what was supposed to be small-talk and mentally drag the other two along the few and far walkways.
..It wouldnt have been an issue for Basil nor Teto, if only Miku had only realized fifteen minutes ago that they had missed at least three of their turns, thankfully, their location wasnt completely alien to either of them.

.--. .-. . - - -.--
"Um.. Miku..?" Basil spoke up after a few minutes of mostly nodding and agreeing with the absolute nonsense Miku was speaking about, catching her attention near immediately
"Hm, whats wrong?"
"..Uh.." Basil shut himself up before actually speaking, going back to twiddling his fingers and avoiding eye contact. This didnt go unnoticed by Miku, opening her mouth before getting cut off by Teto
"This is a park." Teto had spoken up, deciding to lean against a nearby vending machine in order to not faint on the spot, adjusting herself out of worry that the machine would fall. Thankfully it didnt.
And just like that, Miku was brought right back to reality, having just noticed that did, in fact somehow lead the other two into a local park.
"Oh jeez, i'm sorry, i- uh.. Didnt actually know where i was going!" Miku chuckled nervously as she studied the other two, hoping they werent too upset
"No, its ok, my house is a few blocks away..!" Basil attempted to reassure Miku. Taking hesitant steps away from the bewildered complimentary colored duo with a halfhearted smile on his face
"I'll go on ahead, i'll see you tomorrow!" He followed up, before walking off with a surprising amount of speed, leaving nothing but confusion for the two.

"Oh, he's um.." Teto trailed off, staring at where the formerly stood, before walking to a nearby swing set and sitting down, freezing up and repositioning herself so she wouldnt fall off
"..Cute." Miku chuckled and shook her head, resulting in Teto glancing back at Miku, unsure if she were being serious or not, but deciding not to say anything and let her friend think what she thought.
