When Sakura started living in makochi, he had been bombarded with a lot of unexpected things.

The first of everything he would ever experience.

He wasn’t frowned upon with disgust and judgement.

He wasn’t avoided or ostracized.

He was welcomed.

Welcomed to a warm embrace from these strangers he had just met. No contempt, annoyed frowns, or any harm came his way in this town. It was safe.

Safe to the point that it made Sakura utterly confused, lost even.

As if he had been given a map to the right destination but all the directions and descriptions were all jumbled up.

Sakura had already planned his life in Makochi until he counts down to the day when he would leave again. Find a  cheap place to stay, get a job, and fight whoever threatens his life. Show the world that he would come up to the top against all the odds. He had already crossed out the two goals in the list leaving the last one out.

Abandoned and unfulfilled.

It didn’t come as a surprise why it wasn’t scratched out. There was only one reason - Furin.

“Sakura.”

“No.”

“Sakura.”

“I said no.”

Kotoha takes in a sharp breath as she and Sakura glares each other in the eye.

“Well you’re my employee so you have no choice but to come along with me.” Kotoha firmly says. Arms crossed against her chest, her expression solid and stern as she faced Sakura’s scowl. By no means was she intimidated by his scary expressions now after two weeks of working with the guy.

“Look, you gotta familiarize yourself around town Sakura. Going to the market is gonna be a good start.”

“Can’t I just stay in the cafe?” Sakura protests. His hands claws into his trousers as the mere thought of meeting more locals - people, just gnaws at him. He had been forced to make small talks with every regular customer they had in the cafe and it was draining. It just takes a lot of will power to act like an extrovert when you feel like you’re not in the mood.

Sakura just purses his lips as Kotoha continues. “You know  you gotta socialize with everyone in town sooner.”

“Why do I have to meet everyone in town? Can’t I just familiarize myself with just the people I will meet daily rather than meeting them only once?” He argues.

“Well that's because I’ll be relying on you more in the future to run some errands for me out of Pothos.”

A flash of red painted Sakura's face as he nearly sputtered to her words. Relying on him? Did Sakura hear that right that she’s gonna rely on him in the future to run some errands out of this cafe?
