Chapter One: A Fateful Meeting

Scene 1

6:50 PM, Oxford Road, Manchester

(Scene shows a gloomy part of the city, being drenched in drizzle, street lights glowing against the cloudy skies, frame shows a focused-on cab, Genesis's face slightly covered with her comically large hat)

Genesis: Are we there yet, Sir?

Cab driver: Only a couple of blocks away, miss.

Genesis: Okay, thank you!

Cab driver: Do you need help getting off? it's a downpour out there. And you seem to carry a big luggage. Are you sure you don't need help?

Genesis: I can handle myself, sir. Just drop me off of that curb!

(Scene shows car stopping as the panels focus on the car door opening, Genesis struggling a little bit to nudge her luggage away, with what seems to be fragile items clunking on the inside, one of her feet coming out of the scene, and then the otherl scene slowly panning to her opening her parasol, She mouths 'thank you' to the cab driver, as she waves, cab slowly driving away)

Genesis: Ah, here we go, M-U! Too bad I'll get soaked before I could even get in. I'll just have to hurry up. Let me check! (checks her phone) Event starts in twenty-five minutes! Looks like we still have time!

(Next panel shows a wide shot of the university being filled with other students, swarming all over the place some of them showing visible enthusiasm about what seems like an upcoming major event)

Scene 2

John Owens Building, Manchester University Campus

Scene shows Nathan and Chase walking besides each other while both frowning and arguing about something

Chase: But Nate, the prototype isn't ready! I only did 2 test runs on my fingerprint scanner serum and we still haven't perfected it yet!

Nathan: and why do you think I should be the one to worry about that when you were obviously preoccupied since our last week's trip? (Bollocks, I knew I shouldn't have let you took over that project when the Symposium was about to begin, talk about a time crunch)

Chase: run that by me again?(Chase still tinkering the serum comically, with his goggles on, the serum puffing out a smoke that makes him cover his nose)(Chase flinches)

Nathan: Nothing, everything's fine, your serum is okay, just present it, whatever.

(Panel shows a PA speaker that says: To all participants of the Bi-Annual International Sleuthing Symposium, let all be advised to go to Rutherford Theater in ten minutes. Chase: Shit, we're running late, hurry and help me out with this already!

Nathan: Fine!

(Nathan groans as he hesitantly help Chase bring their presentation to the theater)

Rutherford Theater, 7:20 PM

(Panels show jam-packed crowd forming as Genesis tries to navigate with her luggage)
