The Starlight Café hummed with secrets. Its walls held whispered conversations, and its chandeliers cast constellations upon the floor. Dana sat across from Liam Johnson, her heart aflutter like a comet’s tail.
“So,” Liam said, swirling his coffee, “why choose to work with me?”
Dana chose her words carefully. “You’re more than an actor, Mr. Johnson. You’re a paradox—a celestial quirk. The world sees your polished image, but I wonder about the uncharted galaxies within.”
He chuckled, a sound like distant thunder. “Galaxies, huh? You’ve got quite a way with words heh?”
Dana leaned forward. “I’m not here for glamour. I want to unravel the constellations of your life—the ones hidden behind red carpets and autographs.”
Liam studied her, his eyes shifting from starlight gray to stormy blue. “What if those constellations burn you?”
“Then I’ll be stardust,” Dana replied. “Besides, I’ve always been drawn to the enigmatic—the black holes and pulsars that defy explanation.”
He raised an eyebrow. “And what if I’m just a fading star?”
“Even fading stars leave echoes,” Dana said. “They shape the cosmos long after they’re gone.”
Liam’s lips curved. “You’re intriguing, Miss Dana.”
"And you speak my language,Mr.Johnson."
As the conversation rolled on, Dana discovered the quirks that made Liam Johnson more than a celebrity. He collected antique pocket watches, each one with a story etched into its gears. He recited Shakespeare in the moonlight, his voice a velvet sonnet. And when he thought no one was watching, he gazed at the night sky, as if seeking answers among the stars.
They left the cafe and Liam sighed looking up at the sky
“What do you see up there?” Dana asked.
He pointed to Orion, the hunter. “Betelgeuse,” he said, “a dying star. It’ll explode someday—a cosmic cataclysm.”
Dana shivered. “And yet, it shines.”
Liam’s gaze held hers. “We’re all stardust, Dana. Born from collapsing giants, destined to return.”
She leaned closer. “What’s your secret, Liam?”
He hesitated. “I fear oblivion. The void after fame fades.”
Dana touched his hand. “Maybe we’re meant to be more than fading stars. Maybe we’re meant to collide, create new constellations.”
"I want to work with you, as you rise up,I'll stay in the background and earn enough money to buy a penthouse," she said and he laughed
"Understood, you only see me as a meal ticket,"
"Yes!," she almost shouted and then clapped her hand over her mouth , looking around to see if anyone saw her."I want to be like a greedy manager that grabs every opportunity but,I will be generous."
He smiled, and for a moment, they were two souls suspended in time—a comet and a fading star.
They parted ways, with his driver picking him in the luxurious van and she walked home to sort out the scripts which the manager gave her.
