Fortune was lost in the forest. No one but herself and the woods. Or that's what she thought. She continued deeper into the forest. Looking for an exit. There came a sound from the bushes. As if someone walked through them. She turned her head around. Trying to find where the source of the noise was. But it was nowhere to be found. "Who is there?" She asked. No response. Until there came another sound from the bushes behind her she turned around again. This time seeing movement. There was a reply to her question, but it wasn't an answer she was expecting. "Are you lost?" The voice came from behind her. That was weird. How could anyone find her that quick? She only got lost moments ago. So the backstory was that they were camping. Until they heard a sound. Fortune was the one to go check the noise. It was nothing. Or so she thought. When she came back to the place they were camping at. They had left without her. Which was very rude of them. They left her to die in those woods. What friends. She thought at that time. Then came the noise again, but closer. The only thing she could do was run away and nothing else. She didn't want to die out there because of them. She was too young. She was in her early twenties and has a whole life to live for. She didn't want to die just yet. Not like that. The only thing that her friends didn't tell her was that those woods were filled to the brim with mythical creatures. Monsters to say the least.
Coming back to the conversation with the unknown someone, she replied, "...Yeah.... Why do you ask?" She was scared. What if she'd get killed by a monster? She only found out that there were monsters when she saw a glimpse of one. She was pulled out of her thoughts by a voice. "I can help you, but trust me. I might be scary to you." The voice told her. She knew it was something but she didn't know what. That was a problem. Really. But she needed help. She'd do anything to get out of that forest, but what if it was a monster luring her deeper into the forest? She really couldn't decide. Should she trust the male voice? It felt so wrong to trust him but it felt wrong to not. Without another thought she told him, "I trust you."
As soon as she said that a skeleton in a black robe came out of the shadows. Having the look of the grim reaper himself. She froze once her eyes laid on him. She felt like passing out from fear. She couldn't move or talk without having a hint of fear in it, but her attempts to stand her ground were in vain. He could sense her fear and tried to calm her down. "Hey hey it's okay. I'm not a bad creature. I won't hurt you." "For now." She managed to mutter. "I won't hurt you. Ever." He chimed in. "Are you really sure?" She asked uncertain about him not going to hurt her. The monster noticed a wound on her arm that was dripping with blood. He quickly came to her side but she backed up a bit. "Trust me. I won't hurt you." He reassured her. But she only trusted him a little bit, but it was enough for her to let him get closer. He inspected the wound. "How did this happen?" He asked. "I... I tripped over some roots and some thorns on some vines managed to scratch me. But it's just a graze. It doesn't hurt that much." She replied. She still didn't trust him fully. The monster noticed the traces of blood from her arm that seemed to go on forever. He knew she lost a lot of blood. She looked pale herself. He was about to say something before she closed her eyes gently before passing out. He quickly caught her. He quickly lifted her up and got her to nearby shelter. He quickly ran to a nearby empty cabin. He barged into the cabin. Finding the bedroom and putting her on the bed. He kneeled beside her. Wiping off the blood on her arm before hovering his skeleton hand over her wound as he started healing her wound.
He was worried. He hoped she didn't lose that much blood. After he healed the wound he waited for her to awaken. He waited patiently by her side. He waited for hours. The only thing motivating him to wait was the sound of her breathing. He noticed she was shivering. He put the covers over her. Making sure she wouldn't go cold. He closed the window so the cold would stop coming into the cabin. He waited patiently by her side once more. Waiting for hours. The only sounds were being the sounds of the wind and her breathing. Fortune was still unconscious. She didn't wake up for a while. The monster waited and waited. Before dozing off into slumber.
She only woke up the next day. The monster woke up once he heard her shifting in bed. He quickly lifted his hood so he could take a glance at Fortune. She had her eyes closed but she was clearly awake already. "Human~ I know you're awake~" he tried to convince her to get up. There was silence before he heard her shifting and grumbling. "...mmmmmmm.... Five more minutes..." Her response was definitely predictable. He smirked. "Come on princess. You need to get out of bed."
"Noooooooo~" She chimed in. She clearly didn't want to get up. He waited before pulling her out of bed. "Hey! Stop! The bed is too comfy to leave!" She argued about being pulled away from the precious bed. He pulled her out of bed anyways despite her whines. He got her to stand. He turned her around to face him. Her face is pouty as hell. He smirked even more. "C'mon Princess. You had to get out of bed anyways. It's not my fault the bed is so comfy for you." He chuckled. He enjoyed seeing her pouty face. "Stop calling me princess." She told him. Quite annoyed. It was too obvious to not notice. "What should I call you then?" "By my name." She quickly said after he finished his sentence. "Oh? Then what is your name?" He asked curiously. "Fortune." She replied. She wasn't that scared of him anymore. She could look at him without getting scared anymore. "...Fortune..." He repeated. "Pretty name for a pretty princess." "Hey!" She quickly said. Clearly annoyed. The monster's smirk only got wider. He enjoyed riling her up. "Oh yeah? What's your name if you're so confident in calling me princess?"
