As the sun rose, a small raccoon could be seen as it ran through the woods. The creature ran out of the woods and to a tumbledown cottage. Within a second, the racoon turned into a girl. The girl quietly opened the door of the house and shut it behind her, not knowing her father was watching her from the chair in the living room.

"Little early to be awake isn't it?" Lily jumped with a little squeal as she looked at her father with surprise. "I would of never let you go through with the transformation if I knew you would be sneaking out of the house." He spoke before taking a sip of his coffee.

"You're one to speak." She smirked, plopping onto the couch. "What are you doing up so early? Don't you need your beauty rest?" She played with her cross necklace that belonged to her mother.

"I never went to sleep." He sighed, looking out the window. "I was making preparations for Hogwarts." Her father was going to be the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher this year and it worried her. They haven't had good luck the past few years. Lily gave him a look, and he rolled his eyes and smiled. "I'll sleep on the train alright."

*Lily's POV*

Me and my dad split up on the train. He took an empty compartment, and I took another one a few down from him. I read my book peacefully until people started shuffling on to the train. It didn't take long before Fred and George walked in talking.

"What are you two arguing about this time?" I raised an eyebrow at them.

"Who we are going to prank first this year." Fred plopped down next to me as George took his seat across from me.

"Well, It's between Snape and the new DADA professor." I rolled my eyes at George. "I think DADA but Fred says Snape." I hummed in response.

"Well, I wouldn't want to get on the new professor's bad side on his first day." I spoke looking out the window, not listening to the ramble on and on.

I woke up from a nap to see it thunder storming outside and the train coming to a halt. Apparently Fred had the same idea seeing him lift his head from my shoulder and rubbing his eyes. George looked around, confused, as he put a chocolate fog into his mouth.

"Why is the train stopping?" I asked as I opened the door to see everyone else doing the same. It didn't last long as the train rumbling flinging me back onto Fred. We stayed there for a moment until I realized I was sitting on his lap.

I blushed lightly as I took my original seat. The lights flickered as George looked out the window. He claimed there was something moving outside the window. I took a peek but didn't see anything as the lights to the whole train shut off.

Ice started to form on the windows of the train. My breaths became shaky as it got freezing cold like it was the middle of December. Wind could be heard rustling as a dark figure passed by the compartment.

"Dementor." I whispered as the boys looked at me with wide eyes. After a couple of minutes, the noises stopped, and the lights turned back on. "Anyone want a piece of chocolate?"

The twins nodded, each taking a piece. An unsettling feeling filled the air, as if someone had sucked all joy and happiness out of everyone. I stared out of the window as the train started moving, but sensed the boys looking at me. I turned around and raised my eyebrow at them.

"How did you know it was called a dementor?" George asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Have you seriously not heard of them?" I questioned, and they shook their heads. I sighed. "They guard Azkaban. Most likely they were looking for Sirius Black." The boys hummed in understanding, remembering their dad had told them about him escaping.

My farther believes he is innocent and that James potter was his best friend, he would of never betrayed him. He also told me that Sirius was my Godfather, which I plan on keeping a secret at least until he is at least proved innocent.

The boys continued talking about their new prank ideas and quidditch. I couldn't help but catch myself watching Fred smile and laugh. There was something about him lately that I couldn't explain, I had noticed myself doing the same thing last year. It was like he was enchanted. He turned to me and I snapped out of it and looked at George chiming in their conversation about quidditch.

They keep bugging me about trying out but I say no every year, saying that I prefer watching the sport other than playing it. The two already drag me into their pranks, they don't need me to do everything with them.

"We should be arriving at the castle soon." I spoke glancing out the window, before grabbing my Gryffindor robes from my suitcase. They stood up also grabbing their robes before standing up and staying they'll be back before leaving to change. I decided to wait till they get back before I went to change into mine.

My dad walked by the compartment pausing and opening the door to ask if I was alright. I nodded at him as he smiled and left to go talk to the driver. I sat down and played with my necklace, I wondered what my mother was like. She died giving birth to me so I never really got the chance greet her properly.

Once the boys came back I excused myself and changed into my robes in the loo. When I got done I gathered my jeans and sweater from the counter and opened the door. I ended up running into someone's chest.

"Sorry." I spoke before looking up and noticing it was Cedric Diggory. He smiled and shook his head.

"No worries, it was my fault I should of payed more attention." He held his hands up and I got out of the way gesturing to the door which he thanked me and walked inside. I shooked my head and walked back to the twins in the compartment.

"So who's ready for our fifth year?" I spoke opening the door.
