At the lively party, amid the pulsating beats and swirling lights, Shubman kept a watchful eye on Nila, his heart swelling with admiration as she mingled effortlessly with their friends. As the night wore on, he noticed her occasional wince and subtle adjustments, betraying the discomfort of wearing heels for hours.
"Hey, baby," Shubman murmured softly, leaning close to her ear so she could hear him over the music. "It's been five hours. Are you okay?"
Nila turned to him with a puzzled expression at first, then a small smile played on her lips. "I know, Shubman," she replied with a hint of amusement, her voice tinged with a touch of fatigue.
Concern etched on his face, Shubman gently took her hand. "Does it hurt?" he asked softly, his gaze searching hers for any signs of discomfort.
Nila nodded slightly, her smile widening with gratitude for his attentiveness. "A little," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper amidst the party chatter.
Without hesitation, Shubman guided her towards the exit, his protective instinct kicking in. "Come on, let's get you some relief," he said tenderly, leading her to where his car was parked nearby.
Opening the passenger door, Shubman retrieved a pair of well-worn Converse sneakers from the backseat, a knowing smile on his face. "I kept these in here, just in case," he explained, holding them out to her.
Nila's eyes softened with affection as she slipped off her heels gratefully, sinking into the plush seat of the car. "You think of everything," she murmured, her voice filled with admiration.
Shubman knelt beside her, gently sliding the Converse onto her feet one by one, his touch gentle and caring. "Anything for you, sweetheart," he whispered, his voice laced with endearing warmth.
Once her feet were comfortably settled into the sneakers, Shubman straightened up, his eyes meeting hers with a tender smile. "Better?" he asked softly, his concern evident in his gaze.
Nila nodded, leaning forward to press a tender kiss against his lips. "Much better," she replied gratefully, her heart swelling with love for the man who always knew how to take care of her.
As they drove home in comfortable silence, the weight of their shared moments and unspoken understanding filled the air around them.
As they pulled into their driveway, the music from the party fading into the distance, Shubman turned off the ignition and turned to Nila with a gentle smile. They sat in comfortable silence for a moment, the soft glow of the dashboard casting warm shadows across their faces.
Nila reached over and intertwined her fingers with Shubman's, squeezing his hand affectionately. "Thank you," she said softly, her eyes reflecting her deep gratitude.
