Luna's fingers bled as she pressed the guitar strings, the pain a welcome distraction from the emptiness inside. She played in the dimly lit room, the only sound the melancholic melody and her own ragged breathing.

Suddenly, the door creaked open, and her mother's frail form appeared. "Luna, stop that noise," she said, her voice laced with exhaustion. "You'll disturb the neighbors."

Luna's hands faltered, the music dying. She felt a familiar sting of rejection and resentment.

"Why do you always do this, Mom?" Luna asked, her voice trembling. "You never support me or my music. You never even try to understand me."

Her mother sighed, her eyes sunken. "I'm just trying to protect you, Luna. The world isn't kind to dreamers. You need to focus on practical things, like getting a job and settling down."

Luna felt the familiar ache in her chest, the sense of abandonment and disconnection. She turned away, her vision blurring.

"Just leave me alone, Mom. Please."

The door closed softly, and Luna was left with the echoes of her music and the weight of her mother's disapproval.

Luna's tears fell like rain as she curled up on the bed, her guitar lying silent beside her. She felt lost and alone, the weight of her mother's words crushing her. Why couldn't her mother understand her, just once?

As she cried, Luna's mind wandered back to her father, the one person who had ever truly supported her music. But he was gone now, and she was left with the bitter taste of abandonment.

Just then, Luna's phone buzzed on the nightstand. She hesitated, then picked it up, hoping for a distraction from the pain.

But the text message on the screen made her heart sink:

"Hey, Luna. It's Rachel. I'm having a party tonight and I thought it would be fun if you came. But, honestly, don't bring your guitar. Nobody wants to hear it."

Luna felt a sting from the words, the rejection and humiliation burning within her. She threw the phone across the room, tears streaming down her face.

Why did everyone always try to silence her music, her soul?

As the night wore on, Luna's tears dried, replaced by a simmering anger and determination. She would show them all, someday. She would make them listen.

And with that fierce resolve burning within her, Luna drifted off to sleep, her guitar still lying silent beside her.

Luna wandered through the empty halls of her high school, her feet heavy with the weight of her own isolation. She had no friends, no one to share her music with, and no one who understood her. The constant bullying and whispers had taken their toll, and Luna felt like a ghost drifting through the crowds.

As she turned a corner, she collided with a group of students, their laughter and chatter ceasing as they stared at her. Luna's eyes dropped, her face burning with shame.

"Watch where you're going, freak," one of them sneered, shoving her aside.

Luna's eyes stung, but she refused to cry. She knew that would only fuel their cruelty. Instead, she walked away, her heart heavy with the weight of their words.

As she escaped into the safety of her own solitude, Luna wondered if she would ever find someone who truly understood her, someone who saw beyond the mask she wore to hide her pain.

Luna walked into school with a sense of dread. She knew she'd see Rachel and her friends, and she wasn't looking forward to it. But as she turned a corner, she spotted a familiar smile - Julia, her best friend.

Julia bounded up to her, a bubbly energy radiating from her. "Hey, girl! What's up?"

Luna hesitated, unsure how much to share. But Julia's kind eyes encouraged her to open up. "Just the usual," Luna said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Rachel's party invite, my mom's disapproval...the same old stuff."

Julia's expression turned sympathetic. "Ugh, that's awful. But you know what? We're gonna shake it off. We'll grab lunch together and brainstorm some ideas for your music. You're talented, Luna, and you deserve to share it with the world."

Luna smiled, feeling a weight lift off her shoulders. Julia always knew how to make her feel better.

As they walked to their lockers, Luna confided in Julia about her struggles with her mother and her passion for music. Julia listened intently, offering words of encouragement and support.

"Your mom will come around, Luna. She just needs to see how much music means to you. And if she doesn't...well, we'll be your biggest fans!"

Luna grinned, feeling grateful for Julia's unwavering support. With her by her side, she felt like she could face anything.

As they approached their lockers, Luna noticed a new poster on the bulletin board. "Auditions for the school music festival!" it read. Luna's heart skipped a beat as she felt a surge of excitement.

"Julia, look!" Luna exclaimed, tugging on her friend's arm. "We have to audition! I can finally show everyone what I can do!"

Julia's eyes sparkled with enthusiasm. "Yes, yes, yes! You have to audition, Luna! You'd be amazing!"

Luna's nerves began to flutter, but Julia's encouragement bolstered her confidence. "Okay, let's do it! But if I embarrass myself, I'm blaming you!"

Julia grinned mischievously. "Don't worry, I'll be right there with you, cheering you on!"

As they exchanged excited whispers, a voice echoed from down the hall. "Luna, can I talk to you for a minute?"

Luna's heart sank, recognizing the voice. It was Mr. Jenkins, the school's music teacher. She had a feeling this wasn't going to be good...
