The alarms were overbearing.

"Someone, close the gates!"

So many people were yelling.

"Where are all the guards?!"

"She killed them all, sir!"

There was no stopping 019. No one was getting in her way today. They ruined her whole life, so why should she let them keep doing so?

The white halls were covered with the bright blood of the guards. The extremely, white fluorescent lights were flickering mildly as 019 walked past them. She could see in her peripheral vision the other children staring at her through the little windows in the doors. They looked either worried, confused, excited or downright upset with her. She couldn't care less about them. They were no good for her anyway.

After some time 019 finally found the exit and saw the light shining through underneath the door. She already had her hand on the door handle, but before she could escape she heard a familiar voice and froze.

"Stop! Please, stop! Please. Please... Stop..." It was father.

The man who promised her everything, but she quickly came to a realisation that she really ment nothing to him. She really was just an experiment.

"What?" 019 asked without turning around.

"Please, baby. I can't lose you too. We already lost your mother. I don't want to lose-"

"You killed ma! I saw it!" she interrupted him.

"Dia." That didn't feel right. He never used her name, only when he became desperate.

"Diana. Look at me. Please" his pleading voice was annoying her.

"I'm not going to listen or look at you. I am sick and tired of this. I want to live a normal life, but you took that away from me." there was a little shake in her voice.

"It's dangerous out there! I was trying to protect you!"

Diana's not falling for that. "For 20 years?!"

There was a silence that was too loud.

"I-"

"I'm sorry father, but i can't do this anymore" with that she turned around and with her claws threw him against the wall, knocking him out. It was the best for him. She didn't have it in her to kill him, but if it was necessary she would.

Before Diana walked out of the lab she could still hear some of the people screaming at eachother, trying to find her. She was tired of listening to their nonsense and stepped through the door. Finally being free.

Diana ran as fast as she could, the wind blowing her hair in every direction possible. She was going to keep running until she found someone. Someone she could trust. She started running faster and dodged the slim trees that were in her way.

After a while of running Diana found a lake with someone, a man, sitting under the shadows of the trees. The ducks quacked at him while he was feeding them some bread. The man was tall, had smooth pale skin, wavy dark brown hair and quite a nice smile. He seamed to enjoy feeding the ducks.

Diana built up some courage and started walking to the boy. She was scared. She didn't know how he was going to react. The brunette didn't seem aggressive or mean in any way, but Diana has never even spoken to someone outside of the lab. She really only spoke to her father, who ruined everything.

When Diana got close to him, she accidentally stepped on a twig. She let out a squeal before slapping her hand over her mouth. The man smiled, but didn't look at her, confusing Diana.

"I heard you running from a mile away. And I can hear your heartbeat rising rapidly, so calm down. I am not going to hurt you." the brunette man spoke while still feeding the ducks.

"Oh. Um... Can I sit next to you?" Diana's voice bearly came out in a whisper.

"Of course you can! Tell me what's bothering you" he patted the spot next to him.

This man's aura was extremely bright and that comforted Diana in some way. She sat on the rock next to him and he handed her a piece of bread to feed the ducks. They sat in a comfortable silence, surprising as it is, before the man introduced himself.

"I'm Etienne" he finally looked at her and she saw the most beautiful green eyes ever. She was speechless. Etienne was so beautiful it was almost unnatural.

Etienne chuckled, snapping Diana out of her trance. "I- I'm Diana. Or Dia, or Anna. Or even Nineteen if you want-"

"Hey, hey. Calm down. Diana, huh? I like it." Etienne took her hand, both of them having cold skin to the touch.

"I'll tell you something if it makes ypu feel better." Diana nodded. "I am a vampire. Well half human, half vampire."

"Why are you telling me this?"

Etienne smiled. "Your eyes aren't normal. It is pure yellow and your pupils aren't the same as a human. Your skin too. It's a lot colder than a humans."

Diana just stared at him, not knowing what to say. After a while she finally asked him what she wanted to ask him the moment she saw him.

"Etienne, I need your help. I am an escapee from a lab where they use people for experiments... "
