Ok so Hawks wasn't actually your brother. He adopted you so he was your legal guardian but you two weren't actually related. Nobody really noticed because you both have wings so they just assumed that you two were brother and sister. That wasn't completely wrong either though, he was like a big brother to you.
After finding you in a rough time in your life, he took it upon himself to take you under his wing and you've been with him ever since. You didn't try staying in the shadows either, people knew you and you were a little popular since you were always with Hawks.
Once Hawks was in the top 3, he grew closer to Endeavor, so naturally, you grew closer to his son, Shoto Todoroki.
You were currently walking inside of Endeavors agency, looking for Hawks after he told you to meet him there for a mission coming up. You heard some people whispering and staring in every room you walked into. You were used to it but didn't expect it from people who worked with Endeavor. You even had some people ask for pictures, and you happily agreed.
"Y/n." You heard a familiar voice call to you while you were in the middle of posing for a picture. It was Shoto. "Hurry up, we've been waiting." He says as he crosses his arms.
You excuse yourself and walk over to Shoto.
"Come on, just admit you missed me." You tease as you stop in front of him with a wide smile.
"Just follow me." He says, leading you to his fathers office.
"Always." You continue to tease, and this time you catch him rolling his eyes. You wonder what happened for him to be in a mood already. He usually doesn't react this way.
As we got closer to his fathers office you could see how uncomfortable he was. You knew about his relationship with his father so you could understand why he was uneasy, but you didn't like seeing him this way.
The two of you had to catch the elevator and luckily it was empty. You took this time to talk to Shoto.
"Hey." You said, getting his attention so the two of you were now holding eye contact. "Are you ok?" You were serious, which was rare for you, and he knew that.
You didn't know it, but the look you were giving him was warm and comforting. There was genuine concern behind it and Shoto couldn't take it. He thought he could just keep his emotions in but the longer he stared into your soft eyes, the more his eyes stung with tears until they were running down his face.
You were not expecting that at all. He was always so serious and monotone. You almost didn't know what to do, but your body moved on its own. You stepped closer to him and put a hand on his shoulder as he covered his face.
"Hey, it's ok." You try to comfort him, still not really knowing what to do.
"No, it's not. I'm not a child." He gets out through soft sobs. Now this made you angry. Who told him that? Actually, you knew exactly who told him that.
"Shoto." You say as you grab his face in your hands. "You can cry no matter how old you are. There isn't an age limit on feelings." You say assertively to him, wanting him to forget all about that.
"B-But-"
"No buts." You interrupt him. "You can't bottle up your emotions. Ok?" You say, wrapping your arms around his head, cradling him.
"I...I'm just so goddamn tired of him." He finally admits, letting himself lean on you, and hugs you back.
You took this time to push the stop button on the elevator with one of your wings. He needed more time and the elevator was almost to the top.
He told you how drained he felt having to spend so much more time with his dad because of this mission and interning with him in general. All you could do was hold him and caress his hair gently until he stopped crying.
You wanted to murder Endeavor for being such a shitty dad. For having the audacity to make him think this way of himself. Shoto deserves the world.
He didn't let go immediately after he stopped crying, still waiting to be held, so you didn't stop.
After a minute or two you pushed the button to continue the elevator and you let go of him. You noticed the slight pink to his cheeks and how his hair was a little ruffled, it was so adorable.
"Better?" You asked, bringing a hand up to hold the side of his face and rub your thumb lightly across his cheek.
"Way better." He says with a small smile.
Then suddenly the door opens. There is a small crowd gathered outside the door, you guess waiting for the elevator. You quickly take your hand off Shoto and hurry out of the elevator with Shoto right behind you.
The people there gave you two some questioning looks before getting in and you didn't really know why...Until you realized what that might have looked like to random people. Shoto's flushed cheeks and messy hair, after being in an elevator for a while. You hope they didn't jump to any conclusions.
