The king needed to hire someone to protect his daughter, the princess, and he thought that the best way to do that would be to have them come to his home to be interviewed. He has had roughly 35 men enter his office and leave without the job, no one seemed fitting for the role, all of the men were just a little bit too carefree for his liking.

"If I hire you, you will protect my daughter with your life, do you understand?" 48 year old Khalid Khan, the current leader and father of 20 year old Emaan, spoke with a tone that demanded respect. Grey hair graced his chin in a long beard but his hair was cut short, almost to the skin. Before him stood yet another possible new hire for a bodyguard for his daughter.

He interviewed so many men that he thought he might never find someone worthy of protecting Emaan.

"Sir, it would be an honor to protect your daughter, I would not fail you." Spoken with a convincing sincerity were words from the mouth belonging to a young man named Ibrahim Ahmed. The 22 year old stood at 6 foot 1 with a good strength about him, enough to defend himself while protecting another. He had dark hair that fell just past his ears when it wasn't tied back, and piercing brown eyes that could strike fear into someone if necessary.

"Well," Khalid felt the sincerity in the young man's words and frankly, he was tired of interviewing these men, that much was evident in his aged features as he rubbed his temples from the stress. "You better keep your word then." He confirmed the employment of the young man and they discussed payment as well as the job requirements before Khalid decided to tell Emaan.

Once they were finished handling business, Khalid asked Ibrahim to wait in his office while he went to fetch Emaan. He left the office and made his way to his daughter's room, knocking before entering.

"Father, please, be reasonable! I do not need a bodyguard." Emaan argued loudly with her father, a mix of anger and disappointment evident in her features as she tried to reason with the man.

"Emaan, I am looking out for you. I can't let something happen again, after what happened with Zainab-"

"I am not Zainab!" Emaan shouted angrily, unable to control her emotions once her sister's name was mentioned.

"That is enough! I am your father! It is my job to keep you safe! We will not argue any longer, put your scarf on so that you can come meet your bodyguard." With that Khalid left Emaan to get properly covered to meet the man who will be in charge of protecting her.

Emaan sat in front of her mirror angrily. She hated arguing with her father almost as much as she hated pricking her fingers on the pins while she was putting her hijab on, even better when her baby hairs continued to slip out of the undercap. She had half a mind to rip the black fabric off of her head entirely, but she calmed herself and adjusted the fabric until she was happy with it. After taking one last look in the mirror, she huffed and left her room to meet her father in his office.our story
