chapter one

'Y/N GET UP RIGHT NOW,' I heard my mum yell from across the corridor as I groaned in annoyance, huddling myself into a ball under the thick blanket.

Monday mornings were never easy considering that my stupid self is constantly pulling all nighters, watching anime. I pulled the blanket off my body and sat upright in my bed, as a shiver coarse through my veins causing me to hug myself to generate warmth.

How I wished it was summer..

I reluctantly got out of bed and got ready for the school day. Wearing my uniform and packing my bag, a massive chunky scarf around my neck as I burrowed my face in it. I walked out of my room to be greeted with the aroma of pancakes. I skipped over to my mum, saying a small hello, grabbing a piece of pancake and a small bottle of strawberry milk and headed out the house.

Usually I would create enough time in the morning for breakfast but I was already so late and I had to catch the next train otherwise I would be getting detention for arriving late. And that would be so humiliating.

I ran to the train station and noticed that the train was just arriving.

'WAIT DON'T LEAVE WITHOUT ME.' I yelled across the station and quickly ran inside the train, sighing a breath of relief before I noticed the stares in my direction.

My face grew red, realising I had just screamed in a station to a train that wasn't leaving anytime soon. How many aura points did I just lose then?!

I put my earbuds in and hid in the corner of the train, scrolling through my phone to no longer draw attention from the bystanders, although I had nothing to do so I was scrolling through my weather app, pretending it was interesting.

Oh wow! Another snow storm tonight, hooray.

The train neared my stop as I looked up from my phone, the announcement indicating I was arriving at my destination. I pushed my past people, mumbling a few sorry's and excuse me's as I jumped off the train and hurriedly walked out of the station.

I hummed to the song that was playing in my ears as I reminded myself of the anime I was recently binging.

Hmm, I wonder.. If I was in MHA what quirk would I have?

I was in my own cloud of thought as I unconsciously had a smile displayed on my face.

Humming along to the tune of the song, I walked through a pedestrian crossing road, nearing my school as I tapped against my leg to the beat of the song.

I would love to work along side Edgeshot, he's so cool and why is he kinda...

'Y/N! MOVE OUT THE WAY!' I heard a familiar voice scream as I looked over to see my classmate with a worried expression painted on her face.

I heard the sounds of honking and I turned to the side, realising that a truck was coming straight into my direction. I breathed in a sharp gasp and before I could even move, the recklessly moving vehicle collided with my body.

I felt blood trickling down my skin as my mouth screamed a scarlett red, the agonising pain bottled in my stomach, my head crashed into the ground, hearing a stream of worried cries before my eyes closed and my body gave out.

I was welcomed by a void of silence as my body lost touch of reality. I looked around to see an endless empty nullity, I was still wearing my school uniform but my body felt light, as if it was.. translucent. I could sense that my body was still there, intact but I felt nothing. Like I was paralysed in my own being.

My feet didn't reach the ground and everything hit me. I'm dead aren't I? I was just a lost soul to a lifeless body. I wanted to cry but I had grown numb to everything, losing sensation as my body become the sole light in a dark, boundless void.

Suddenly the world surrounding me grew louder, as I looked around, unable to pinpoint where the noise came from.

'Y/n wake up,' I heard in the distance as the voice was growing closer, and closer. Louder, and louder.

'Y/N WAKE UP!' I let out a loud sharp gasp as my body sprung up.

I looked into my surroundings and realised I was no longer in a dark endless place, but rather a bedroom. The sun beamed through the window, passed the curtains as a thick blanket wrapped around my silhouette.

A figure was standing in the doorway, someone that oddly resembled my mother but something was off, 'Geez I've been calling your name like 10 times, get up! You're gonna be late for school.'

She shut the door behind her and the birds chirped quietly outside. My eyes darted to the bedroom I was found in, welcomed by a sense of unfamiliarity as the sound of my heart grew louder.

Where am I?!
