"Professor Agasa, how long has Shinichi been like that?" Heiji said while looking at the door of Shinichi's room.

Professor Agasa hesitated to answer Heiji since he didn't want him to worry about Shinichi.

Professor Agasa sighed deeply, his voice tinged with sadness. "Ever since you guys left, he's locked himself away in his room. His body is wasting away, and his face is ghostly pale. Ran tries desperately to reach out to him, to coax him out, but it's all in vain. He refuses to let anyone in, shutting us all out while he silently fades away, lost in the videos on his laptop."

Heiji was shocked to hear how much the situation had affected Shinichi. His eyes filled with tears, and he desperately wanted to comfort his friend, to tell him everything would be okay. But he couldn't, not with Shinichi's fragile state of mind and Shiho's as well. The helplessness weighed heavily on him, knowing he couldn't reach his friend in his time of need.

i...love....you...Shinichi

Staring blankly at his laptop, Shinichi saw her face. He paused the video, his eyes lingering on her golden brown hair that shimmered in the sunlight, her smile lighting up his dim room. Her image was the only thing keeping him sane, a fragile lifeline in his isolation. His heart ached with a deep, unspoken longing, yearning to hold onto the missing piece of his memory, the piece that was her. The sight of her face was both a comfort and a torment, a bittersweet reminder of the love he could not reach.

"Shi..." Shinichi whispered, not knowing what the nickname actually meant to him that he had given to Shiho.

While Shinichi was scrolling through the many videos on the USB that Kaito had given him before leaving Tokyo, he stumbled upon a file he hadn't noticed before. The file name, "vows",  immediately piqued his interest. His heart raced as he opened it, sensing that this video held something deeply significant, perhaps a hidden message or a clue that could change everything.

The video played

"if you're going to get married today, what is the vows for each other?"

Shinichi recognized his friend's voice immediately. Though Kaito's voice often irritated him, he felt a surge of gratitude knowing that Kaito had been there for him, even if he couldn't remember those times.

But what bothered him most in the video were the two couples smiling at the camera—the smiles he didn't recognize he could produce, or rather, the reason why he could smile like that in the video compared to his days with Ran.

"I, Miyano Shiho... take Kudo Shinichi as my beloved husband, for richer or poorer, till death do us part."

As Shinichi heard those words, a piercing ache gripped his heart, tearing through him like shards of glass. Tears cascaded down his cheeks uncontrollably and wanting to shout the pain his feeling as he whispered, choked with emotion , "Shiho..."

Outside his room

"Soreja~ I'll be going now Professor Agasa, i'll try and visit Shinichi again" Heiji said while leaving the gates of the mansion.

Professor Agasa responded in a nod and waved him off to say goodbye while smiling, thinking that everything will be okay if Shinichi has friends like him.

As Professor Agasa returned to the living room to put the finishing touches on his latest invention, he was startled by the sudden creak of a door opening behind him. Turning slowly, his heart skipped a beat with a mix of surprise and relief. There stood the person he cares for the most like a son, finally emerging from his self-imposed isolation. But as Agasa looked into his eyes, he noticed a striking difference. Those eyes, usually reserved for moments of intense investigation he did, now held a fierce determination, a hunger that Agasa had seen before—but never quite like this. They were the eyes of the Detective of the East, Kudo Shinichi, burning with an undeniable longing—for answers, for truth, and most of all, for someone he loved deeply.

"Agasa Hakase... I need a favor," Shinichi said, his gaze unwavering as he looked directly into the Professor's eyes.

"Shinichi..." Professor Agasa uttered, taken aback by the seriousness in Shinichi's tone.
