“Meera, are you ready? We will be late for your function” Swagata shouted from the dining room. Meera, being a little clumsy, is always late. “Ma give some more time to her. It's a special day. Also, you might find your son-in-law there. She has to look elegant and beautiful” Tia said in a loud voice so Meera could hear their conversation. “What nonsense are you talking about? She is just 19 for god sake and why are you in a hurry to marry her off?” Swagata gave a questioning look to her younger one. She sometimes said unnecessary things. “That you will find out soon” Tia mumbled and just shrugged her shoulders.
“Aren't you speaking too much? That day you also almost declared my love in front of Baba. Thank god he did not ask anything. Stop your nonstop talking and help me tie the blouse, Dori.” Meera said in a warning tone. But these warnings do not affect her. Ah! Sibling fights. It happens in every household.
“Oh, Di you are looking damn sexy.” Tia complimented her and tied the blouse knot.
Meera wears a simple red ghagra choli but her blouse is way too short. The blouse barely covered her breasts. The dupatta is also transparent, she tried to hide the chest area by plating the dupatta but it is slightly visible.
“Don't tell me yaar, I have gained weight, the blouse is from last year's performance and I forgot to try it. Now here I am. Is it too revealing?” Meera voices out her concern.
“It is Di, but what can you do now? We have to leave. Wear it with confidence and I think you can pull it off.” Tia encouraged her. “Now please make haste, the CM will be there and you can not be late for your performance.” Tia leaves the room after hugging her.
Here Randhir is ready in a black bandhgala suit which suits him perfectly. His broad frame and muscular body are sometimes intimidating. He has a dark aura in his personality but the more dangerous is the calm look on his face. You can see the anger in his aura but the calmness in his face makes him unpredictable. He walked to his father's SUV, today he is going with his father.
“You finally came? You are precisely 6 minutes late” Randhir's father Mr. Chandan Deshmukh said. He is the current CM of Maharashtra. He is a good man with a good heart but being in politics for so long he knows where he has to be strict. “I caught up with something baba. How is your health now?” Randhir asked affectionately. He and his father have an easygoing relationship, nothing much complicated. “Good, I will be great if you agree to my demands.” Mr. Deshmukh replied with a light teasing smile. He knows how to annoy Randhir with this particular topic. He and his wife have been pursuing Randhir for marriage for almost a year now. But Randhir declines, giving excuses like he has no time for a wife which is true in a sense. But Indian parents and their threats we all know. Hearing their conversations Tarun also chuckles. “Not you too Kaka, you all are ganging up against me,” Randhir said in an annoyed voice. “He is right, Randhir, you should settle now and people also like to settle leaders more.” Mr. Roy voices his opinion. Randhir just nodded his head. “Only if they know. No girl can handle his roughness, his wife is going to run away if truly reveals himself.” He thought to himself.
“Baba, I think the opposition party will protest about the new bill about holding residential properties. These matters are delicate. Are you sure you want to introduce it before the election? I think it will affect the party seat in the election. After the election you can go ahead” Randhir wanted to hold the new bill introduced in Bidhansava which states individuals holding more than one property should pay the tax for the latter which will not sit well with many.
“Call a meeting about this with senior party members. Their input will be valuable” Mr. Deshmukh replied.
The car ride is smooth with three men and their bodyguards. Randhir is busy on his phone checking important emails.
“Heard Meera is performing tonight? Sunita also tried to come but her schedule is very busy this week” Mr. Deshmukh asked. He has a soft corner for Meera. He was there when Meera was born and he was as much happy as Mr. Roy was. He has seen how mannered she is.
“Yes, she is quite excited about it. I am also looking forward to it. It is way too long for me to see her dance” Excitement in Mr. Roy's voice can make sense.
hearing Meera's name, Randhir paid attention to their conversation. “Does she do this on purpose? Not possible because he only confirmed his arrival yesterday. She is a great dancer. Here he tried to distract himself from her thoughts and she was going to perform in front of him. This is going to be a long night” He groaned at this thought.
Though she is just 19, have you been willing to marry her off in recent years? I have a very suitable match for her. Mr Deshmukh‘s question makes Both Mr. Roy and Randhir off guard. Mr. Roy Meera is that little girl who always wails if he doesn't pick her up from school and Randhir Meera without someone else did not sit well with him. Something twisted in his heart.
Randhir's slight discomfort shown on his face did not go unnoticed by both men. Mr. Deshmukh confirmed his suspicions while Mr. Roy tried to ignore them. Meera and Randhir did not sit well with him for various reasons.
“No, I will not marry her off this early. I would like to have a son-in-law who will shift into my house after marriage. Meera is too precious to us”. Mr. Roy directly threw these words towards Randhir, a clear warning to stay away from his little girl.
Randhir just looked at Mr. Roy’s direction and said we will see in the future what Meera's choice is.
Observing the catfight between two powerful men in Mumbai Mr. Deshmukh chuckled internally. He is going to enjoy this show too much.
