DEMITRA SUMMERS STOOD IN HER DORM room, carefully packing her trunk for the Christmas holidays. The snow outside had just started to fall, blanketing the grounds of Hogwarts in a pristine white. She was excited to spend another holiday with the Potters, a tradition that had started the day she met Sirius and James.

Demitra had no family to call her own. She had lived with her grandfather since birth, but the day he discovered she was a witch, he cast her out, just as he had done with her grandmother. Since then, every break and holiday had been spent with the Potters. At first, she felt like an intruder in their home, a burden on their hospitality. But the Potters had a way of making her feel welcome, of making her feel like she belonged.

As she closed her trunk, Demitra smiled, thinking of the warmth and love that awaited her at the Potters' home. She couldn't wait to see Sirius and James, to laugh and celebrate with them. Despite the hardships she had faced, she had found a family in them, and for that, she was eternally grateful.

It had been two months since Demitra and Regulus had stopped talking. At first, the silence between them hurt deeply. She had hoped for an apology or at least an explanation for his actions, but none came. However, she didn't have the luxury of dwelling on it for long. Her life was moving forward, and things with Sirius were going amazingly well.

Lily was over the moon for them, constantly talking about double dates and shopping trips.  James, ever the supportive friend, sat back and enjoyed the excitement, while Remus offered his congratulations before returning to his beloved books. This year, Lily and James had grown even closer, if you catch my drift.

Demitra found herself smiling more often these days. The warmth and joy she felt with Sirius and her friends were enough to overshadow the pain of her past. She was ready for this new chapter in her life, surrounded by people who truly cared for her.

"Does it hurt?" Demitra asked, her voice tinged with curiosity and a hint of fear. Lily giggled, "Only the first couple of times." Demitra's eyes widened in terror. "There's nothing to be scared about," Lily reassured her. "The best thing you can do is take it slow. Slow as possible until you know." Her eyes sparkled as she reminisced about her time with James, leaving Demitra to wonder if that was what love truly felt like.

"I have a gift for you," Lily added suddenly. "Lils, I told you not to spend a penny on me!" Demitra protested. Lily's smile was warm and bright, a beacon of comfort in the room. "Don't worry! It was free." She reached for a black velvet box and opened it, revealing a pearl necklace that shone brighter than a million diamonds. Demitra gasped, "Lily, I can't take this! This is too much!" Lily rolled her eyes and gently placed the box into Demitra's hands. "I insist! For you to pass on to your children!" Demitra was in awe of the beautiful necklace, her heart swelling with gratitude and affection for her friend.

"Girls! Dinner!" Euphemia Potter called from the wooden manor stairs. Though their house was considered a manor, it always had a warm, fuzzy, and homey feeling. The scent of roasted chicken and freshly baked bread wafted through the air, making the atmosphere even more inviting.
