Rick Grimes

This is like a family/ friend oneshop (Yes, I know I've spelt that wrong, but I sent a screenshot to my mate, and she loved it, so...)

Me and Rick, we had been friends since we I joined his department, I always found I was closer to him than Shane out of the pair, maybe it was because Rick just seemed easier to talk to, or it was because I hated Shane's constant attempts to flirt and shit, but Rick always shut him down before I could punch him.

I witnessed it, Rick getting shot. I feared for his life and visited him most days in the hospital, bringing little gifts, like drawings i had done with Carl and sometimes flowers to put next his bed. When the world went to shit I was with Lori and Carl (and, unfortunately, Shane) at the time. Lori started frantically packing up the less important things like family photos and jewellery. Carl and I packed things like food and water while Shane made sure the walkers couldn't break in.

It had been a while, and I constantly worried about Rick, Shane had told us he was dead, and while I refused to believe it at first, I slowly came to accept the fact that I may never see him again. Lori and Carl also didn't take the news well either. It is never easy losing family. However, they slowly began to fall into a routine with our group at the quarry.

There were some people who were easier to get along with than others, like Dale and Carol. Sometimes, it was easy to talk to Daryl as well, but I didn't much like his brother Merle.

It was late at night, and the kids had gone to bed, Shane looked around at everyone before deciding to speak up.

"I think we need to go on a run tomorrow," he said.

"I'll go," I said, getting bored at being at this place for so long.

Merle, Andrea, T-Dog, and Merle (I can't remember if there were others) also agreed.

We headed out to Atlanta(??), I stayed close to Glenn while the others were in front of us.

"So, what did you do before the world went to shit?" Asked Glenn.

"I worked as a cop with Shane and our other friend Rick. What about you?"

"Was a pizza boy with a shit tonne of debt. Your friend Rick, was he Carl's dead?."

"Yeah, he was."

We kept chatting until we arrived at our destination and entered the first building we found, clearing it  and grabbing any useful shit we could find.

We found a shop to hide our in while walkers surrounded us, Glenn was busy talking to some guy on the radio, who was stuck in some vehicle outside, while Andrea was preparing for the worst. Me and T-Dog were searching for things that we could take back to the group if we survived.

Glenn went to go help the guy into the store.

"Glenn," I said," be careful, we don't know if this guy is safe or not. Do you want me to come with you?"

"No, I should be good, thanks."

We waited a couple of minutes, hoping for Glenn's return. I nervously started to.fiddle with the knife in my belt while I waited, acknowledging that Merle had left the group to go to the alcohol aisle.

Glenn had finally returned, with the silhouette of a slightly taller behind him.

"Everyone, this is... sorry, what is your name?" Glenn asked, turning to address the man.

"Rick."

"This is Rick."

Rick, it's a common name, so I didn't see the point of getting my hopes up because my friend was dead anyway.

"Rick, this is T-Dog, Andrea, Merle is somewhere, and (y/n)."

"Hi," he said.

That voice, it sounded awfully familiar, but I couldn't remember where. I looked up to see him.

"Rick...?"
"Yes?"

He turned to face me, and I felt tears begin to pool in my eyes. I stood up from my seat on a box. I slowly walked up to him.

He embraced me in a hug. This is the Rick I knew. The one I would spend weekends with, the one I would visit in the hospital when he was shot.

At that moment, I realised maybe the world hadn't gone to complete shit because I had Rick by my side again.
