[2] Replacing Someone

Momo's POV
(Flashback to a week ago)

The day was normal so far, I woke up on time and got ready, then I went down to drink tea and have breakfast with the class before heading to school.
Just like any other Monday morning. But today when Mr Aizawa walked in the classroom, we all felt it. Something big is gonna happen, and everyone's on edge.

"Alright class!" He said seriously. I gulped, getting visibly nervous, I looked around the class and a few others seemed to feel the same.

"Next week, we will be getting a new student in this class.." Mr aizawa looked kind of mad.

"OMGGG REALLY?? IS IT A GIRL?" Mina jumped from her seat, hands on her table. She was excited, some others seemed to sigh in relief that it wasn't something serious. But some of us had caught on, including me.

Mr Aizawa was all quiet, while the class was bickering. Some of the girls got excited including Kaminari Sero and Mineta, while Iida was trying to calm the class. But it seemed some of us sat still, knowing whats gonna be happening next.

I slowly stuck my hand up, causing some of the class to quiet down. Mr Aizawa looked at me, giving me a signal that I was allowed to speak. I gulped before asking my question.

"Does this mean that someone from the class will have to leave?"

Crickets

"Yes." Our teacher replied.

Everyone suddenly got scared and worried, except for a few students.

"It will be decided who it is next Monday, through a series of test the whole class will be participating in. The person taking the number 20th spot can either choose between staying in U.A but in the general studies, or leave completely. The choice is theirs."

Crickets. Again.

"Meet in the gym, where everyone can train. I expect everyone to work hard, to be able to stay here."

(End of flashback)

"Today's the day guys.." Mina said quietly.

Everyone else stayed silent.

"WAHHHH I JUST WANNA SAY, WHOEVER IT IS I WILL MISS YOU AND YOU CAN STILL BE A HERO" Mina starts crying.

I sigh, I knew it wouldn't be easy for anyone a classmate is leaving for some random person we know nothing about. I look around seeing a bunch of my classmates also crying, I start to get emotional too.

Right now Mina is giving a speech about how that it will all end up alright, while Kaminari, Sero, Hagakure, Kirishima, Mineta, and a few others are sobbing nodding to Minas inspiring speech.

I look over to Jirou seeing her quite worried. I get up and start walking her way. Jirou and me have been really close since the start of the year. I think shes really cool, and I look up to her.

I sit next to her, slowly placing my hand on her shoulder.

"Hey Jirou, are you alright?" She stays silent. I put my hand back on my lap, then see her turning around. Her eyes were teary, as if she was holding in her tears for years. I know Jirou well, she wouldn't want to cry in front of everyone. So I take her hand and lead her to the other side of the dorm lobby. The moment we arrived and sit down, she starts sobbing and hugging me. I hug her back trying my best to comfort her.
