I woke up to the awful sound of my alarm clock, it was Monday and I had fucking school. I hate school, the anxiety I get when walking through the halls feeling as if everyone is judging me and how loud it is right after class is out. It almost makes my ears ring, and the fact that I was just a 'weird girl' as some would say, no one liked me. I would sit alone at lunch watching as the time ticked by, every second felt like an hour in there. I finally pulled myself out of those thoughts I sat up on the edge of the bed, my body heavy and still tired.
After some time, I had gotten dressed and started my walk to school, when suddenly I bumped into someone causing them to drop the items in his hands and fall to the ground "fucking, shit, I'm sorry." I speak quietly looking at the boy in the ground "o-oh it's okay." he stuttered picking himself up off the ground. I had seen him around school before, I took note of his blue eyes and the dark under eyes of the boy, like it had been days since he slept "here let me help you." I state as I bend down and pick up some of the things he was holding "thanks" he mutters looking down at the ground. Once I finished helping him, I walked away felling stupid for the interaction I just had 'you stupid fuck! why would you do that.' that boy probably hated me now, but I mean who didn't...
It was lunch time and I sat at my table in the corner where I always sit when the brown-haired boy walked up to me "hey do you mind if I sit here?" he questions, I nod signaling he could sit. I was almost confused on why he wanted to sit with me after I had knocked him down earlier in the day. As we sat there in silence, I could feel my heart beating faster as I tried to come up with something to say. After what felt like an eternity, I finally spoke. "So, uh, what's your name?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. He looked up at me with those same big blu eyes , revealing a set of straight and white teeth. "It's matt, yours?" he replied. I smiled back at him. "It's jayden." I said softly. We continued to eat our lunch in silence for a few minutes. As we sat in silence, I found myself lost in Matt's eyes. They were captivating, like a deep blue ocean. I couldn't help but feel drawn to him, even after the incident that morning.
I watched as he walked away, feeling a strange mix of emotions. On one hand, I was relieved that he had left so I could process what had just happened. On the other hand, I couldn't shake the feeling that there was something more to this guy. As the bell rang signaling the end of lunch, I gathered my things and headed to my next class, trying to push his image out of my mind. I couldn't understand why he had wanted to sit with me, only to leave so quickly.
I finished packing up my things and made my way to my next class, my mind still preoccupied with the strange encounter I had just had. As I walked down the hallway, I caught a glimpse of Matt walking past, his head down and his shoulders slouched. I wondered what went through his head...
As the school day ended, I made my way out of the building, ready to leave behind the strange encounter with Matt. I was so lost in thought that I almost walked into someone as I rounded a corner. I looked up to see it was none other than Matt himself. He looked even more troubled than earlier, but he still managed a wry smile as he saw me. "Are you okay?" I asked, genuinely concerned. He hesitated for a moment before responding. "I don't know," he said, his voice barely more than a whisper. He looked down at the ground, his eyes filled with sadness. I felt a sense of compassion for him, even though he had been nothing but distant with me all day. "What's wrong?" I asked, reaching out to touch his arm. He flinched for a moment before leaning into my touch. We stood there for a moment, our eyes locked in a silent conversation. Before I could say anything else, Matt turned and walked away, leaving me alone in the empty hallway. I watched him go, feeling a mix of emotions. On one hand, I was relieved that he had left, but on the other hand, I couldn't help but wonder what might have happened if he had stayed.
I tried to leave the encounter behind me but I couldn't shake the feeling of him maybe he was upset because I did or said something 'he's pissed at you' I thought, it was stupid that I was thinking about him like that, he wouldn't want to be friends or even talk to me tomorrow. she walked in her house, her mom looked up from the couch and mumbled something. It was obvious she had been drinking. She then went back to watching TV, not really caring about anything. She felt defeated, this was her normal day, she had no friends, her mom didn't care, and now she was thinking about some boy that probably didn't even care about her. She took the stairs to her bedroom, closed and locked the door.
