As I inhaled deeply, the briny scent of the ocean engulfed my senses, permeating my lungs until I finally exhaled. It had been so long since I had truly breathed in fresh, salty air. I could still feel the remnants of the breeze, its cool touch lingering against my damp skin.

It's been a while since I last saw a sunset as beautiful as this one.

A sigh of comfort escapes my lips, carefully resting my head against the hard bed rock, my lower body is underwater, hiding from any eyes that could see it. Not that I was truly worried about that. A lot of people don't even know this small cove was here and that was what I liked. They are usually crowded up in Raquey, a town a couple of miles from where I was. A friend told me it was some sort of tourist attraction nowadays. Good. We don't need too many people around here.

My thoughts are interrupted by a soft babble coming from a certain little one who was sleeping peacefully in my arms. A gentle smile forms on my lips as I bring him closer to me to give him a peck on the forehead. Even as he slept, my baby brother was as cute as ever.

Talking in your sleep now, huh Caspian? ❞ I ask in a light whisper, hand giving him some comforting pats. The serene sound of the ocean waves must have made him fall asleep without me even noticing. If I didn't bring him from home, then I would have fallen asleep with the lullaby of the sea as well. I began to hum a tune and from there, I began to sing as softly as I could.

My little baby~
   Let the waves rock you
   To sleep~
And have them take away all
   Those bad dreams~

My singing stopped immediately as I felt someone's mana from behind me. Their aura wasn't a malignant one, but I still felt afraid. I brought the child closer to me, swallowing nervously. Crap. My parents did warn me not to get caught by someone. Bandit, pirate, or whatnot. Good or bad. Adult or child.

I dropped my tense shoulders, lips parted.

Who are you? How did you find this place? ❞ I ask, not daring to turn back as my (E/C) hues stare ahead at the descending sun. I didn't let my guard down. Malignant mana or not, if this person did something crazy, I was ready to attack and flee.

The person didn't speak, but they were still there and probably standing.

I asked a question... who are you? ❞ I ask once more, this time through gritted teeth and in annoyance.

No answer.

Just so you know. If you harm me and the young heir, my people will come looking for you no matter where you are. ❞ It wasn't a threat, but a warning.
