"Why are you asking? You are enrolled already." Flor cut Nate's words.
Nate laughed and drunk his cola."I know, I know. Am just curious. About how you two were chosen as the scholars. I've heard that only a few could be granted that scholarship."
They keep on exchanging stories until I feel sleepy. I actually stayed up all night trying to write my new novel I am writing in my own blank book.
"Lav, we are still going to the beach and you're dozing off already? You don't watch television and you usually sleep early, why does it seem like you didn't get any sleep?"
Flor worriedly touch my forehead."You don't have a fever. Are we still going to the beach?"
"Yeah, we planned this long ago. We can't delay it now that college is coming. We are not gonna see each other much often."
I answered."But. But you said you applied in the same school?"
"I did not say anything yet."
"Oh, what a thriller. If I see you at campus..."
"Nah let's go." Nate said finishing his cola.
We were approaching the sea. There are some people enjoing the sunny weather. Andy, Flor and Nate left to change clothes. They want to swim and I don't. I don't have any plans for it.
I brought my camera to keep myself busy instead. I took pictures of the sea, the sky and the people having fun.
If I'm not writing, I have to do something that interests me.I saw a girl eating something while her brother lie over the sparkling white sand. I got hungry.
I waited for my friends and I saw them in their swim suits ready to dive into the sea.
"Lavi, you sure you're not swimming with us?" Nate ask one more time and I said no."I'm alright. I'm going to eat sandwich here and enjoy the view." I gave them a thumbs up to convince them to leave me already. They think I do not enjoy being alone but its the opposite.
I also got a book and try to read a little but it turns out that I'm really sleepy so my eyelids got heavy and I fell asleep.
I woke up with my friends and we're back home. I got up from my bed. Beside me is Andy and Flor while Nate sleeps on the floor.I look outside the window. Its dark and that means its night already. I haven't had my dinner and here my friends are sleeping already. I feel bad not joining them earlier and they're so kind not waking me up.
I got up from my bed and quietly opened the door trying not to wake anyone. I opened some canned goods and put it with the leftover rice. Its quiet. Like super quiet. This feels like the right time to write my novels.
I also check my mailbox. There are a couple of letters there for me.
I opened the letter and appreciate the handwriting. Though I find it weird that there is no address where letter and who it ls from.Dear novel writer,
I personally read the story you submitted. I am pleased to inform you that you pass the evaluation and glad to offer a slot for the course you want to take. Given that unique ending, I believe you have the quality to be the next best-selling author. And as a student assisting my professor to handle this matter, I believe you have no reason to reject this university offer. Please come to the Rioville University this Monday for an interview to ensure your slot. What? A student. A student wrote me a letter! This must be the unbelievable joke ever!
Honestly Rioville is a good University, not just the famous one but also the prestigious one.Did I really manage to get in there?
There's now way to confirm this but to be sure I opened the laptop I've been hiding for months 'cause I rarely use it. Now I must use it and see the digital confirmation of Rioville. Then there it was. Rioville University's e-mail confirmation but this is different from the one that I got from the mailbox.
