Chapter 1: Dearest, close friend.

Yuuji: "Megumi~"

Yuuji squeaked. Megumi turned his head around, avoiding his gaze. Yuuji's smile dropped "Cold as always, huh." He thought, sad that his closest friend seemed to be avoiding him 24/7. He sighed as he turned back to playing his game, his only source of entertainment ever since Megumi started ignoring him. Yuuji had always been a good Samaritan, and a gentleman. He'd help anyone out with a favour. Others always mistook his kindness as his weakness and used him for their errands, knowing he'll accept in a heartbeat. He wasn't particularly popular either since all he had were those 'friends'. Only Megumi didn't use him and take advantage of his kindness. Yuuji took a particular liking to Megumi and got close to him. At school, Yuuji was as bright as sunshine. He was like a golden retriever especially compared to the dark and gloomy Megumi. When they were walking together it was like two different worlds standing together.

"Ring...!" The much awaited school bell rang as Yuuji jumped up running to Megumi.

Yuuji: "Megumi! Megumi! Let's go have lunch together!"

Yuuji said with a smile that went ear to ear. Megumi glanced at Yuuji but plugged in his earphone and walked away. You could hear Yuuji's heart break from a mile away. "What did I do wrong? Why is he ignoring me?" He thought. He watched as Megumi walked away from him, every step echoed into his ears. "Don't tell me I have to lose someone I love yet again." He said, tears welling up in his eyes. He used to live with his grandfather as his parents moved overseas, leaving him in his grandfather's care. His relationship with his parents was extremely distant but it was the opposite with his grandfather. He loved his grandfather dearly, until he lost him to cancer. That day he felt not sad or depressed, the best way to describe it was lonely. He felt like he needed more time with his grumpy grandfather. Anyway, he decided that day that he would find someone else he could consider dearest and keep them close. That person now was Megumi and he was failing his life mission. He left the school glumly, in a daze as he thought of the reason Megumi was ignoring him.

Just then, he felt a sharp pain in his heart. He gripped his chest as he felt his chest contract.
