you usually tried to avoid confrontation, knowing that you had a smart mouth, but when he had unintentionally ruined the night he met your parents, you couldn't help but to be angry.
he'd slightly messed up the dinner table causing him to jump up and let a curse word slip out, your mom immediately raised her eyebrows and looked at the two of you in a questioning way, and you knew that she become even more weary of him because of it. it's a known fact that your mother hates cursing, but it must have slipped his mind.
he truly didn't mean to and you knew that, but in your mind, that didn't mean you couldn't be mad at him.
"i told you that my mom hates cursing! you know she does! and you already know that neither one of my parents like you in the first place, so why would you do it?" you yelled, as you two walked into the house.
"i honestly didn't mean to babe, you know that."
ignoring him, you continued to rant, and you did so until you two got up to his bedroom.
by then, he was thoroughly annoyed. he could only handle your mouth for so long until he snapped, and usually when he did, he cursed you out and made you feel bad, it's just what he did, even when he didn't mean to.
"will you please shut up. i'm forreal tired of your mouth right now."
"don't-"
"shut up," he said, adding bass to his voice.
whenever he added bass to his voice, that usually shut you up real quick, and it worked as usual this time too.
as you two tried to go to sleep, you started to feel bad. you realized that you shouldn't have been as mad at him as you were, you should've calmed down as much as he needed to.
"babe," you said, barely above a whisper.
"yeah," he responded, sighing.
he had been thinking about the situation too, and he knew that was wrong also. he knew better than to cuss at your parent's house, but he couldn't help it, it was a reflex.
he knew that he was just as wrong as you.
"i'm sorry for ranting about what happened earlier, i knew you didn't mean it," you apologized.
"i get it. i'm sorry for doing the first place though, i knew better than to curse at your parent's house."
both of you sat in a comfortable silence until you cuddled up next to him, causing him to chuckle.
"i swear this is the only reason you apologized," he said, laughing as he wrapped his arms around you, kissing your neck as you two slowly fell asleep.
