"We can't leave you here, who knows what happens if we do!" Furuhashi says beside me. The kaiju points a finger at Ichikawa, shooting at him but Ichikawa dodges just in time.

"Huh? You can see it?" The kaiju mutters "Iharu! You can leave, someone needs to call for help. I'll stay with Haitani"

"But-" I quickly cut him off. "Please! We will be in worse condition if no one helps us out." The kaiju shoots at me, I move to my right but I barely dodged it, the bullet has grazed my shoulder.

Furuhashi hesitates, but he sooner runs and leaves us. "Can you keep up, Ichikawa?" I say, shooting bullets at the kaiju and not surprisingly, it dodges all of them.

"Yes! Please try not to die" he says, looking at me. I nodded at him "You too, Reno!" I immediately dashed towards the kaiju. I discarded my gun, taking out the knife from the combat suit.

I run behind the kaiju, pulling my knife out and stabbing it's neck. I take the knife out, taking a few step backwards.

The kaiju was about to turn to shoot at me but Ichikawa quickly shoots first, getting the kaiju's attention. I run at it again, stabbing its back this time.

I pull away, running back to Ichikawa and grabbing my gun again. "What..?" The kaiju manages to dash infront of us, catching both of us off guard.

"You didn't know about this, did you?" The kaiju starts to bubble up, I quickly push Ichikawa away, not managing to save myself. The kaiju explodes, but before it could hurt me, Furuhashi has pushed me away.

"Haitani, are you okay!?" He asks hastily, clearly concerned. "Iharu? I'm okay, why are you here?"

"I-I sent out a flare then came back-" the kaiju cuts him off "it's useless, nothing can get outside without my permission"

"We're gonna have to fight this all by ourselves, don't we?" I say, panting.

"Yeah, so let's go!" All three of us dash towards the kaiju. Furuhashi shoots an electric bullet at the kaiju, it attempts to shoot back but we all dodge it.

"Haitani, Reno, now!" Ichikawa and I both shoot at the kaiju, aiming at it's chest but before we could, a wall appears.

"What is that?" the kaiju rips through the wall "You've run out of ideas?" It says with it's weird robot like voice.

Suddenly, bullets go through both Ichikawa and I's body. "RENO! HAITANI!"

"Shit.. I didn't see that coming. I-I can still stand up." I try to grab my gun, slowly trying to get up. I look at the kaiju and see it's finger pointing at Furuhashi.

I use all the strength I have left "No.. I can't let him get h-hurt" I run towards Furuhashi, pushing him away as all of the bullets were shot at me.

"H-haitani..?" he looks at me, blood all over his face with tears coming down from his eyes.

"Iharu, look at you.." I reach for his face, wiping his tears away. "Run Iharu, please.. I don't want you dying on me" his eyes continue to build tears, and I continue wiping them away.

"All of you can finally die" I heard the kaiju say "I can't do anything, can I..?" I hold Furuhashi closer to me, hoping that something, anything, would happen just to save him and Ichikawa.

"The one who's going to die is you, piece of shit" as I heard those words come out of someone else's mouth, I smiled. My eyes slowly began closing, not being able to fight the tiredness anymore.

Soshiro's POV

"How rare of you to be feeling down" Mina approaches me. "So, how strong was he?" I look behind me. "Ah, you caught me in my lowest moment"

"Then let me take a photo for documentation" she quickly pulls her phone out and snaps a photo of me

"He's most likely a daikaiju.." I trail off, the unsettling feeling in me never wore off.  "V-vice Captain!!" someone screams in my earpiece "It's (Name)... she's in bad condition."

My eyes widened, I quickly get up. "Where is she, what happened!?" Mina looks at me, concern shown through her eyes. "She's in the hospital along with Ichikawa and Furuhashi, she's been looking for you, apparently."

I open the hospital door, greeted with (name)'s body lying in a hospital bed. I slowly approach her unconscious body. She was in a separate room from everyone else.

"You were just in the hospital a few days ago, can't believe you're back for the same reason..."

I reach for her hair, tucking it behind her ear. I hesitate, but I leave a kiss on her forehead, lifting my head up again to admire her beauty. "She feels so fragile under my touch.."

I take a seat next to her hospital bed, the situation feeling familiar, deja vu.

"I can't believe I almost lost you again, and I wasn't even aware of it this time." I sigh "I'll make sure to neutralize the kaiju before this ever happens again. I don't... want her getting hurt anymore. I'll protect and kill all of the kaijus there are if I have to."

Your POV

I slowly opened my eyes, darkness was the first thing I see. It was nighttime. I sense something heavy on my hand, I look and see that someone else's hand was on top of mine.

When I turned to look, it was Soshiro. A bedside lamp was right next to us as it was turned on, the light perfectly shining on his face, he was awake.

"Did I wake you..?" He quickly shakes his head "it's okay, do you need anything?" He asks, his voice soft and gentle.

His eyes which showed calmness suddenly switches to concern as tears were building up in my eyes. I reach out for him and he comes closer.

In a matter of seconds, I wrapped my arms around him as he bring me closer, hugging him. "What's wrong? Tell me everything." His voice was still gentle.

"I-I was so scared.. he shot me multiple times. I thought I wasn't gonna make it this time... A-and Iharu, Reno! Are they okay?" He gently rubs my back and reassures me "they're both okay, they're in the room right next to us"

"I saw the look of fear on Iharu's face... he was so scared. I wanted to calm him down.. I wanted to reassure him. I couldn't even save them both, I'm useless..."

He was quick to shush me, he buried my head in his neck and gently played with my hair. "You did amazing, you couldn't fight it alone."

"You should go back to sleep, I'll be right here just like last time." I lift my head up from his neck and look straight into his eyes "can you sleep next to me..?"

He hesitates, but he nods his head. I move to the side as he climbs in the bed. I reach out to hug him, wrapping my arms around him. He pulls me closer, pulling the blanket to cover us both.

"Goodnight, (name)." He softlt says, playing with my hair. "Goodnight, Shiro." I fall asleep in his arms, his gentle touch, enough to make me fall asleep.
