I was sitting on the rooftop of my mothers apartment waiting for "not Sofiya's" response, dropping a small handball and a golf ball in front of me trying to figure out this stupid equation. The air was definitely crisp ad the city was busy but I honestly couldn't care less I was so at peace it was quite soothing. After a few more aimless minutes of picking up and dropping these things my phone pinged again.

Apparently it's got something to do with when the force of
Gravity (weight of object) is equal to the drag force
Drag force depends on velocity
Basically Newton's first law of motion.
When drag is equal to weight, there is no net external force on the object,
and the acceleration will become equal to zero.
The object will then fall at a constant velocity.
The constant velocity is called the terminal velocity.

Well that's annoying, they really just gapped on me. I groaned as I wrote down the equation of this stupid thing, bouncing the handball every now and then to have some sort of life up here. The city always looks so pretty at night. Do you ever wonder how different everyone's life is? Like I'm obviously doing homework up here but down there everyone is just paying their bills, feeding their homes, filling up their happy cups about life and what makes them get up in the morning or well...nights. Honestly nights like this make me feel alive.

I actually left her alone after that cause yeah okay I did feel bad, not everyone's awake at night I guess. I packed up my homework and iPad, sneaking back down the fire escape and retreating right to my room. The smell of alcohol and weed reeked all throughout the apartment and it made me want to gag. My mother she's...well, she's nice she's just troubled if you wanna call it that? Look don't ask me it's all I've known her to be since dad passed when I was little, he got into a work accident and she's never been the same. Always bringing different men home, and I guess it's filling the voice after the accident but she refuses to parent or get help so I'm doing both for her. I've been looking after myself for a while now while also being her support and looking after her. Roles reversed in this household.

I shoved my books and study work in my bag ready for tomorrow and made sure the apartment was closed up, light off, her half eaten frozen meals back in the fridge and cleaned up all the excess bottles of beers laying around. I don't think I actually got in my bed til around 2:30 ish? But oh well, what's new hey! Finally getting a little cool-down time, I put my iPad on charge and set my alarms on my phone. Let's hope tomorrow comes quick and Talia's so called friend can help me again, man's a legend truly.
