Chapter 3

Jade

As soon as I drove away from her house, I smiled and looked at my palm. This was the first time I acted like this. Sierra was beautiful. How could a girl or guy hurt her like that? Di niya deserve yun. I want to know her more; I'm very determined to know every part of her. 

I parked my motor around sa condo building and immediately went straight to the elevator. As soon as nasa floor na ako ng condo ko, I ran towards the door and opened it with the keys in my hand. 

"Wow, umuwi ka pa talaga," the great Alyssa said. 

Alyssa Quinn Arceta, my best friend or my so-called "sister by heart," and I met in high school, and I guess we clicked with each other, and now we're inseparable. Siya yung tinutukoy kung kaibigan na hinahatid at sinusundo ko araw-araw and she's my roommate na din dito sa condo ko cause ayokong tumira ng mag-isa, ang boring kaya.

"Chill, di pa naman 11 p.m." I chuckled, taking off my cap and hoodie to sit on the sofa. 

"You went under the bridge, Nanaman?" She asked, typing something on her laptop. 

"As usual, wala naman akong ibang lugar na pinupuntahan." I lay down on the couch and took my phone because I suddenly remembered Sierra's words. 

Alyssa nodded and went silent. I need help. I hesitated to ask for help from her because this is the first time I'm going to ask her something like this, but I guess she noticed my hesitating.

"Ano ba yan? Why are you hesitating?" I stood up and sat beside me.

"Look, this is the first time I'm going to ask you this. Don't tease me or whatever." 

She looked at me confusedly and nodded slowly. 

"I met a girl under the bridge; she was beautiful, Alyssa. I saw her crying, so I went to her and tried to comfort her. After that, hinatid ko siya sa bahay niya, and she gave me her number. She said I should message her pag dating ko sa bahay, which ngayon, and I dont know what to do." I shyly opened up to her, and she was just smiling at me, or rather teasing me with her smile. 

"Jade, is this you?" She laughed hard after I explained. Tumayo ako at pumunta sa sofa tas I shoved my face on the pillow. 

"You agreed not to tease me, Alyssa!" I shouted, and she laughed even harder. 

I hear her footsteps. Pa punta siya dito sa sofa. I was all shy now, yung cheeks ko para na atang kamatis. 

"Umayos ka nga diyan, who's that girl?" She took the pillow from my face, which I tried to get back from her. 

"Jade," she said in her warning voice. 

"Si Sierra, di ko alam yung surname niya." Sagot ko ka agad nong nag warning na siya, na tatakot ako nito syempre.

"Sierra? Her name sounds familiar; describe her features." Naka kunot yung noo nya while thinking. 

"Uh, ano. She's tall, ka height ko lang, she has a slim body, she has a pretty face, of course, and I think pink is my favorite color, naka all pink ba naman kanina."  

"I heard her name before, but wag muna natin yan pag usapan, give me your phone, ako na mag me-message." Sinunod ko naman yung utos niya at pinakita ko yung number na naka sulat sa kamay ko. 

"Pati sa pag text kailangan mo ng tulong, ano ka ba bata?" Tumawa siya. Napaka judger naman nito, di talaga ako tinitigilan nito. 

"Oh, tapos na." She handed back my phone, and I saw she had already sent a message. 

'Hello, Sierra. Naka-uwi na si Jade; this is her friend, by the way; crush ka niya daldal niya eh.' 

My eyes widened when I saw her last message, and it was a cue for her to run away from me, which she did. 

"Alyssa, may pag ka demonyo ka talaga!" I shouted. I ran towards her, but I wasn't lucky enough to catch her. Sinarado at linock niya agad yung pinto niya.

Sierra

It's been 30 minutes since Jade dropped me off dito sa bahay, and for the past 30 minutes, I've washed up and gotten ready for bed. After a while, I decided to check my phone to see if there was a message. 

Jade: 'Hello, Sierra. Naka-uwi na si Jade, this is her friend; by the way, crush ka niya daldal niya eh.' 

My eyes widened, and I laughed it off. Totoo bato? ang cute ng message. Wait, so this means nag pa tulong siya sa friend niya para i-message ako? Cute. 

I was supposed to send my reply, but I paused because she sent a message.

Jade: 'Sierra! Hindi yan totoo, gawa-gawa lang yan sa kaibigan ko, but totoo yung naka-uwi na ako! ' 

I smiled, but I was kind of disappointed. 

'Hey! That's good to hear; salamat pala sa pag-hatid.' 

Jade: 'Sus, naka ilan ka ng thank you ha, swerte ko. Kidding aside, kahit araw-arawin ko yung pag hatid sayo okay lang eh.' 

Corny naman, ganito ba siya mag first move? Assuming mo masyado, Sierra. 

'HAHAHAHAHA, sige sabi mo. Anyways, matutulog na ako.'  

Jade: 'Okay, good night, Sayo. Wag ka na mag reply, off mo nalang yung phone mo.' 

'Good night, Jade' 

Jade: 'Tigas ng ulo, eme. Seryoso! Wag ka na mag reply.' 

I laughed as I read her message, and in-off na yung phone ko.  

I guess I found a new friend? Sa unknown place pa talaga kami nagka kilala. She's funny, kind, and a green flag?! Gusto ko pa siyang ma kilala. 

I shrugged off my thoughts and decided to go to sleep. I have a lot of things to deal with tomorrow.
