Sometimes when life gives you lemons, add some water on it and sip on that lemonade like there is no Tommorow. It might be the dumbest thing to do and chill, because that's nothing compared to what Mbatha's daughter is going through in her house.
She goes up and down getting everything that her husband's friends and others are asking for. Everyone is enjoying the music and drinks as they celebrate Mbutho's promotion at work. He is the one that did this party and invited everyone close to him including those he sleeps with behind Zamo's back .
He simply gets irritated by the sight of her presence wishing she never existed in his life. But they go way back from the village before riches found him. Zamo was his backbone and angel when he was down. He married her from nothing to this man she took care of and natured to this level yet it's never enough for him.
Zamo passes right next to him and he clicks his tounge irritated before following behind her to the kitchen.
" What's wrong with you.?"
He asks lowering his voice and gets closer to her. Her fears rise one by one triggering her nerve system as she backs with her small steps but the shelf behind her hits her back to notify the end of her steps.
" Nothing my husband.."
" Can't you just be normal for once.! Now everyone will think I married my mother because of your behaviour running errands for my friends. "
His hand found its way to hold her neck. Her glassy emotional eyes won't even make him change his mind because it's not the first, or the third he places his hands on her the wrong way. Their room walls are witnesses to her misery.
" Go to the room and stay there till the party is over, or else I'll be the end of you tonight."
He whispered in her ear.
" Ok."
" Ok what.?"
He harshly asks with a low voice.
" Ok my love."
She says with a smile holding her tears back. In just a minute she walks away and goes straight to their matrimonial room as he said.
She locks the door and immediately as she turned her hot tears found their way out.She closed her eyes sniffing and trying to breathe in and out at the same time. Her trembling legs found their way to the bed as she sat on the tip of it and exhale the big Budden off her chest.
Yet it's like nothing is off her chest, it's still heavy like a pile of medals weighing her down. She knows Mbutho and he means every threat he fathoms out of his mouth.
Tonight might be just like other terrible nights she went through in his hands. He was never like this, they first didn't start like this. Mbutho was a loving man- husband. Caring and loving husband at that matter.
Whenever he would look at Zamo's face he would blush alone. Whisper sweet to nothing words in her ears every single day he got the chance. Tell her soothing heart words to melt her heart away.He was that husband that never wanted to see a cry on her wife's face.
Things change and so is a person. Her prayers of her husband getting a job got answered little did she know the consequences of Mbutho getting a fine job.
It started with late night comings to a disgrace. From there it took off with several beatings and making her have several miscarriages.
Stress became her friend, overthinking was like a mother to her as she would ask herself endless questions that not even a psychologist can reason with her.
