'Finally, that box took forever to unpack... Oh gosh, and it's already getting late. I at least wanted to go into town to look around and see what they have."

You had recently just moved to a new house on the outskirts of town, more in nature than the moving into the busy town of the village hidden in the leaves.

You had known and heard about this village since you were a little girl. You had heard good things about it besides for one incident about the nine-tails attack. The event was talked about a lot after it had just happened and how the Hokage had lost his life inorder to save his village. You knew lots of stuff besides that terrible incident and you wanted to move here ever since.

It was about to get dark, but you wanted to go out. You had been inside unpacking all day. You got the living room almost done and the kitchen completely done along with your room. There was still the rest of the living room, the two other bedrooms and two bathrooms. Plus all your clothes.

You sighed and grabbed a coat you didn't pack and headed outside. It didn't take long until you got to the center of the town. The people on the streets were leaving places and heading home while kids were saying goodbye to their friends and running to their parents. One boy caught your eye.

He had spiky yellow hair and blue eyes that looked down on the ground. He lazily swung on the swing. You noticed no kids had gone up to him to say goodbye. You sighed slightly before you kept walking. Maybe all his friends went home already? You thought to yourself as you kept walking.

You might have gotten a little carried away with the exploring because the sunset was gone and it was dark out. Very few people on the streets and vendor and shop owners closing and locking their building before heading home.

A breeze came your way making you shiver.

I should probably get home. I still need to have dinner.

You began to walk the same way you came. The streets looked very lonely without people walking on them and kids running on them and around people to go over to the playground.

When the playground came into view you could see a kid sitting under a tree. Your eyes widened.

It's that same kid from before! It's getting dark and it's going to get late soon. Maybe I should tell him to head home before it gets too late. He probably just doesn't know what time it is.

You began to walk over to the little boy. The grass folded beneath your feet. You stopped right in front of the boy. You kneeled down at his level, sitting on your heels, your hands on your knees. He wore goggles and he had six black whisker marks

Those markings...

"Excuse me, should you be out this late at night? Your parents must be worried," You spoke, your eyes looking at surprised ones. She didn't yell at me? He thought

His surprised eyes slowly changed into sad ones.

"No, they aren't." The little boy said, looking down at the ground.

"No? They aren't worried about you?" You spoke

"They aren't here anymore." His voice was filled with sadness

"They aren't -" You stopped your sentence short. You understood what he meant. Your body filled with sympathy.

Well, he can't just stay out here all night. He'll freeze.

You stood up and looked around. There was nowhere for him to stay

"Why don't you come home with me for the night?" Your voice was gentle. His head shot up from looking down, a look of surprise plastered on his face.
