The next morning, we see the future students of Beacon preparing for the initiation. Ruby seemed to be in a good mood as she tested the unfolding mechanism in Crescent Rose while humming.

Yang: You seem chipper this morning.

Ruby folded Crescent Rose and hugged it.

Ruby: yep! No more awkward small talk or getting to know you. Today I get to let my sweetheart do the talking.* giggles*

Yang: Well remember Ruby, you're not the only one going through initiation, you're gonna need to work with people.

Ruby: ugh you sound like dad, does meeting people have to do with fighting?

Yang: What if we form teams?

Ruby: you, me, Madeline, and Seo make four.

Yang: Maybe you should try to get Mentha on your team instead of me.

Ruby: my dear sister Yang, are you saying that you don't want to be on the same team as me?!

Yang: wha- of course I do it's just you guys have a lot in common.

Yang and Ruby look to Mentha's direction who is oiling the mechanisms on Great Horn.

Ruby: I don't know, at breakfast, I tried talking and she was polite but would just end the conversation and walk off.

We now see Seo opening her looker and loading two revolvers named Sparkler and Sizzler but couldn't help but overhear what Mentha was saying to herself or more specifically Great Horn.

Mentha: nice and ready for days' worth of combat...beautiful... so your purpose is beautiful. Afterward, I'll treat you to some high-quality polish...how does that sound?

Seo: uh?

Mentha blushed stopped and turned to the smiling girl behind her who looked interested in what she was doing.
