Jealousy

"If only everyone was that easy to persuade!" Morgan laughed merrily, the creases in the corners of her eyes indicating a true smile.

"Then, I'm looking forward to working with you, Lord Shadow," she continued more calmly, raising her iconic red wine, indicating something to her sister with a sharp look.

Having caught on, Nephis followed suit, raising her glass while intending to celebrate their newly formed alliance with a toast. In contrast to her sister, Nephis' wine was not of the provocative red color, but more of a tame white. If she rather enjoyed the taste of it, or if she was simply drinking what was served to her, nobody knew.

Coincidentally enough, though, Sunny's glass was the only one left empty. And what was he supposed to do? Raise an empty glass? That wouldn't do.

'Damned incompetent waiters,' he thought, gritting his teeth.

Well, in some twisted way it made a lot of sense. If a masked individual entered a restaurant, there was little doubt as to whether that person would actually be eating or drinking anything. It would've been a waste to fill his glass. Even Sunny had to tick his tongue in defeat at that sane logic.

Still, just this once, maybe a little waste was acceptable. It was a toast to an alliance, after all! No matter how treacherous the intentious of any of these three parties were, they still had to maintain decorum. And the two ladies were waiting! This was going to get really awkward if Sunny didn't act soon.

Left alone in the private suit for the time being, no waiters seemed to be nearby to call upon. So it was up to Sunny to serve himself. He gazed upon the table at the myriad of wine bottles. It would've been an easy task to just take one and pour himself a drink... But he found himself feeling overwhelmed. There were so many to choose from! Red wines, white wines, even a rosé!

Sunny's hand froze hovering in mid-air as he was about to grasp upon a particularly beautiful bottle of red. His instincts were screaming at him! Screaming that something was off. He hesitated, then locked eyes with Morgan.

A sharp, sinister light played in the crimson depths of her irises.

"Is something wrong?" she asked, a smirk playing on her lips.

"Ah, it's nothing paramount," Sunny began. "I've just been in isolation for so long that I seem to have forgotten how to choose the preferred wine."

...Which wasn't a lie. He worded his sentence weirdly for concretely that reason. On his journey in the hell regions of Antarctica, a peculiar individual by the name of Luster loved to talk about his experiences in romantic settings. He had once mentioned something about how a man's order of wine was important to ladies further along the social hierarchy... Sadly, Sunny had dismissed most of his words as the talk of a crazy person.

...'Damnation! I should've paid attention.'

Not that this situation was anything like that! This wasn't a romantic setting! This was merely three incredibly powerful people discussing an upcoming war... All three of them just so happen to be miraculously beautiful and well dressed, to boot. And the setting just so happened to be a fancy restaurant lit by candle light!

"You wouldn't happen to have any recommendations, would you, Lady Morgan?" Sunny asked, lost on what to do.

Caught off guard, the elder sister's brows rose ever so slightly. She was scheming to find out more about the Lord of Shadows' upbringing by his choice of wine. She hadn't considered that he would just directly ask for her advice. It was so very... unnoble.

Nevertheless, this situation was still salvable. Maybe she would be able to get closer to the dark knight this way. Assuming he caught on to her reference, she would at the very least be able to impress him with her quickwittedness. She lingered for a moment, choosing her words carefully.
