Silence roared in his ears. Seungmin couldn't decider half the words said to him as he was led by the squadron of guards out of his apartment building. He was staring down at a huge, gaping hole beneath his feet, unable to do anything but jump. Unable to fight back. To feel like his own being. To plant his feet in the ground, rebel, and refuse to go there. All he could do was let himself be guided to the black royal SUV's parked in the crumbling garage.
The walls of Seungmin's mind were hardening. Bits and pieces chipping off as he felt himself shut off, turn cold. But more so was his heart. A dull ache echoing through every crevice and corner, something that only expanded and leeched the light from his eyes.
Anyway, this was very depressing.
They were driving the same road he and Minho had taken yesterday, plunging him into all those recent memories. There, they had-
No, this is stupid. There's nothing I can do about this soap opera I was forced to do, but I can certainly try to pull my shit together, and not depress myself more than I already am.
It took a few seconds for Seungmin to realise the guard beside him was talking to him. He turned, his eyes roving over his features. Gentle, uptilted eyes that looked a bit too sweet for his comfort. Tanned freckles sprinkled across his face like a constellation, urging Seungmin to connect them with his finger. And... his smile was so tender, something so electrifying about the ease of its beauty making Seungmin unintentionally stare.
" Mr. Kim? I'm private Lee yongbok. But everyone calls me Felix. I'll be your personal escort and guard as soon as you get officially instated in the castle," Felix ... or private Lee nodded at him, flashing his teeth. Not a vampire, good.
He smelled a bit like the ocean, the salty breeze hanging lightly around him. " Yeah ... so, I'll call you Felix?"
The Felix in question nodded softly. " This must be all very confusing or... strange. I'm here to answer all of your questions." Seungmin glanced at him, mumbling a word of thanks before turning back to the window. His pocket felt heavy with something, his phone. Realising he might have a few messages, he turned it on.
Bad idea.
The phone began beeping with dozens, no, hundreds of notifications. His eyes widened as he began looking into the notifications. People he hadn't texted in ages, classmates, ex-friends, and strangers were texting him like crazy.
Seungmin found it stupid. He hadn't won some kind of lottery for these idiots to be texting him like he'd send them a penny. Which he wouldn't. The buzzing had apparently stolen Felix's attention, who turned to him apologetically.
" That's normal. Happens to anyone in your position. Don't worry, this one will be confiscated and a new one will be given to you with the numbers you specifically want on it."
Seungmin nodded, only half focused as he searched for one chat. Jisung. He had 34 missed calls and more than a hundred messages from his bestfriend.
