Little Secrets

A young woman, orphaned at an early age, grew up without family in a small town. Her parents died when she was a child. They were using drugs and died in their car. They left her playing in the front yard of their home.

When she was older she tried to find any relatives they might have had, even though the local authorities had already done so. She came up empty, but found that they had traveled to different countries before coming to the small town. The couple over the foster home had connections and so they linked her with an agent in the FBI.

They retraced the parents steps trying to locate an origin point in order to find family. They hit a dead end, and came up with nothing. So she had no idea where she was from or if she had family anywhere.

She had always vowed to live her life openly, so as not to relive her parents mistakes, whatever they might have been.

"So, I guess I have no secrets."

She goes to a summer camp to work, and falls for a janitor. During their time she shares about her past. After they've 'been together' and after they have gone out several times, she discovered, in the worst way, that he _was_ married to a famous tv chef.

Each restaurant they go to is one that he went with his wife. The last one is where he proposed to her. She doesn't know. The Chef's friends show up to 'teach her a lesson', harass her and humiliate her.

They don't say who they are or why they are doing it. Just say that she should stay away from him. She goes to find the guy, but he's not there. She is hurt and leaves thinking they must be through. She goes home to rest.

A few hours later she wakes up to find him on her balcony with flowers and champagne. She tells him what happened and he says that his ex is very vindictive, that she is stalking him and this has happened before. He's sorry. She thanks him for the visit, but explains she is tired and needs to rest. He leaves the flowers and takes the champagne with him.

Coworkers notice that the girl is down so they throw her a small party to cheer her up. They call it a bubble balloon party. The guy shows up and French kisses her long in front of everyone. She is embarrassed, and tries to act casual about it to save face.

The Girl group shows up again at her apartment to harass her, this time it's worse. They take a copy of the menus from every restaurant that they went to as a couple and circle what she ate at each of those locations in red lipstick.

They force her to sign a document apologizing for publicly humiliating Chef, and that she will make amends by volunteering at each of the restaurants serving the exact dishes that she ordered.

She takes them to a lawyer to ask if it is legally binding, he says it is not, and she should press charges against the girl squad.

She decides to do it anyway to see if she can find out anything. She knows now that the squad is watching her.

She goes to the first restaurant and disguises herself as a waitress. She works half the night. While standing in the kitchen taking a break, she overhears the staff talking about the guy. Apparently he is there with another girl, and she is the 'new one'.

He takes girls to these restaurants to parade them in front of his ex. She takes off her apron and quietly leaves.

The next day she went to the Chinese place they had gone to. She speaks to the cook who agrees to let her hand dishes to the front until her dish is ordered so she can see who orders it. She works for about an hour when the dish is ordered. It is him with the new girl.

She is about to confront him when the cook walks up with a ladle and labels out steamed country greens into a bowl, and says "Chinese Pickles, order up!" The girl snorts and begins to laugh, as this was a joke. The cook smiles, hands her a fortune cookie and a to-go bag with good food.
