Zayn tensed and Liam slowly stepped away

"Wait, Liam listen"

Liam slowly nodded "I'm listening"

Niall clenched his jaw "I'm not"

Liam turned to Niall "Stop" he turned to Zayn "You have 5 minutes...

Zayn took a deep breath "If I didn't, they would've given the case to someone else"

Liam rubbed his face then dropped his hand "Why didn't you tell me? I would've done something- I could've done something!!"

Zayn shook his head "I'll take care of it,i promise I'll take care-"

Liam shook his head and raised the file "This was you taking care of it!!" He slapped the file to Zayn's chest

Zayn opened it and immediately tensed, aside from his Liam sketch, there was a list of names and Liam's was highlighted

Then in the second page was Liam's passport photo and ID along with a photo that was taken of Liam when he did a petty crime and was caught for it, Zayn knows the photo is because it's the blurry one hung on the board

Zayn closed the file and  looked at Liam who was pacing

"I'll take care of it"

Liam looked at him and shook his head before he looked at Niall "What should I do?"

Niall rolled his shoulder "You know what you should do."

Zayn stepped closer "Liam-"

Liam turned to him "How much did you get?"

Zayn's eyes widened "Nothing!!"

Liam shook his head "Liam, please you have to-"

"You told me you loved me... Then went ahead and submitted a fucking sketch of me to your boss?!"

Zayn flinched and his shoulders fell "Liam, you know I love you, you know more than anyone that I do"

Liam shook his head and stepped back "No I don't... I don't know"

Zayn's phone rang and Niall raised his gun, Liam crossed his arms as Zayn slowly pulled his phone out

Louis' name was on the screen, it kept on ringing but he didn't answer

It stopped ringing then Zayn got a notification that he had a voicemail

Zayn looked at them and Liam nodded

Zayn took a deep breath then clicked play

"Zayn. Zayn, listen to me, ok? I'm going to need you to get out of your apartment, if your boyfriend is inside, lock the door and keep him inside, if he's not. Try and find him" Louis took a deep breath "Liam's full name is Liam Payne... It's him, Zayn... It's him. I sure hope you didn't know"

Zayn looked at Liam "See... I didn't give them anything for them to know directly that it's you"

Liam looked at him and blinked, he walked towards Zayn while pulling something out of his pocket

Zayn looked at Liam who pulled the housekey out of his set of keys then picked Zayn's hand and dropped the key in it

"Forget I existed, will you?" Liam turned around and walked away

"I sure as hell will"

A week later...

Chief patted Zayn's shoulder "Hey... You ok?"

He looked at his hands and shrugged "Dunno"

She sighed and sat down across from him "I'm sorry, about what happened." Zayn shrugged "But us catching him should still be our number one priority"
