Todoroki's pov:
I'm now sitting in the carriage my father brought from Spain with 5 more behind to protect me on the way. As I glance out the window, the sun glimming across the lush green field setting into the shadows of the mountain. I couldn't help but think about that boy that captured my attention through a lifeless paper. I'll finally get to see what this boy is really capable of except for stealing the eyes of others. He probably has a ton of girls already.
________
It was now close to nighttime as we finally arrived at a secluded area in a forest surrounded by towering trees. I got off the carriage and was immediately greeted by a maid who seemed to be around their 20's. "Greetings my lord, my name's Diara, I will be your personal maid assistant throughout your stay here. If you need anything, feel free to come to me." She said as she bowed with a delicate smile on her face. How sad it must be for her to work at such young age, I thought.
We then proceeded walking deeper into the camp as she guided me in. "This is the bonfire area, where everyone will gather each night to relax and share a meal together." My eyes lit up to the sight of a beautiful area with fairy lights hanging from tree to tree. I looked around only to see very few people getting ready for the bonfire.
(just imagine this but with fairy lights and lanterns, and tables full of food. ik they prob don't have fairy lights back in the time but i thought it would be cute if there was. Ofc you can make up your own view!!! )
Diara the continued guiding me to the back of the camp where many tents were set up, i counted around 60 tents... i never expected that many people. Diara then brought me to my tent which was no different to the others, a bell tent built on wooden platforms.
( a picture for u guys to refer <3 )
"My lord, you should get ready for the bonfire. I will be in the cabin if you need me." As she was getting ready to leave i grabbed onto her arm, "please call me Shoto." her face reflected a mix of shock and softness. She nodded and bowed as she left.
I then started to unpack and change into something comfortable, i decided to go for a white loosed-fitting top with long sleeves and brown trousers and topped it off with a shawl for warmth.
After changing i started walking towards the bonfire and slowly starting to regret my decisions as i could hear the noisy atmosphere filled with laughter and music. Maybe this was a bad idea afterall... I've barely ever socialize with anyone. I then slowly stepped out from behind a tree and started making my way towards the crowd. Was this all 60 people? Everyone seemed to be either talking with someone of eating and dancing to the music. For some reason, this unknown and new atmosphere was somehow comforting in a weird way which i could not explain. It was far from my expectations. I thought that it would be a gloomy competitive camp where everyone sees each other as enemies, but it's the total opposite...
I didn't dare to make a move towards the crowd surrounding the campfire, so i decided to walk around. I was glad that i wasn't the only one alone as i started seeing other individuals enjoying their time alone. I followed a path which led to an area lit up with candles all around and a mini treehouse next to a lake. My curiosity got the better of me, and i walked up the stairs up the treehouse.
This place gave me a sense of comfort and safeness. Being away from my family, far away from anybody. I wondered why there was no one at such a pretty place, I got on the couch to look over at the lake. While the winds brushed through my hair and crows were croaking chirpily. It felt so nice, i never want to escape this place. I thought. Then suddently i felt a presense behind me, i looked back to see the one and only...
(sorry for not updating for so long, had to rush this chapter so do tell if there were any mistakes. By the wayy, this story will mainly be revolving around the 20th century, just wanted to be clear. anyways love yall <3 )
