Danielle

I sat in my room thinking about what I was going to do. I could go to the police using Zoe's diary and her sudden disappearance as evidence against Tyler. Or I could mind my own business.

I feel like as soon as I go to the police Tyler would hurt me too. And I didn't want to get on his bad side. I don't want what happen so Samantha & Amy to happen to me too.

Alice: Danielle! I'm home!

I looked at my cell phone looking at the time. This is the third night in a row that I've stayed up since Zoe's disappearance. My mom swears I'm distraught about Zoe's situation but there's more to it, of course.

Alice: Danielle why aren't you sleep, honey? You have school in a few hours.

I continued staring at the picture of Zoe & I that sat on my desk next to the picture of she, Travis, and I, rapidly thinking of what to do next.

Alice: Don't worry honey. They'll find her. I'm sure they will. Get some sleep, please?

She kissed me on my forehead and turned off my light leaving my room. What was I going to do? What to do? What to do?

I was at my locker putting away the books that I didn't need for the second half of the day getting ready to head to lunch. I didn't go to sleep at all. Instead, I stayed up writing out several plans for what I could do. Pros and cons of it all. I thought it all out thoroughly. I probably look horrible but I didn't give a damn.

?: Hey Danielle!

I turn to see Travis looking pretty bummed out.

Travis: Have you heard anything from Zo?
Danielle: No. Have you?
Travis: No. I miss her so much. I don't understand how she can just disappear like that.
Danielle: Yeah same here.
Travis: How are her parents holding up? I know they have to be torn up about this all.
Danielle: Not good. But they are strong people. I'm sure they will be okay.

With that, we headed to the auditorium. Devon was already at our table chatting with some girl. I swear he had a new girl every few weeks. Tyler was nowhere to be seen. We sat in our usual seats with that girl taking Zoe's seat. I could tell Travis didn't like the fact that that girl was sitting in her seat. It definitely looked like we replaced her already from the outside looking in. But that simply wasn't true.

They all started talking to one another and I zoned out. I didn't care for their conversation. I was wondering where Tyler was. He usually was the last one to the table anyway because of is AP class that went into lunchtime a lot.

When I zoned back in, I realized I was sitting alone. They had left me to get food but I wasn't hungry at all. Suddenly Tyler appeared walking towards our table. He looked like hell. He must not be getting any sleep either. Well, I wouldn't either if a friend found out I was a murderer.

He sat down throwing his bag onto the table pulling something out of it. He looked like a zombie. He moved slowly. I didn't like the vibes I was getting from him.

Tyler: We need to talk later.

His voice startled me. It was deeper than his already deep tone. The rasp of his voice was gone. He didn't bother to make eye contact with me either.

Danielle: About what?

He just looked at me with that 'you know' expression and darker eyes. I just nodded swallowing the lump in my throat. He pulled out a sandwich and a bag of chips and began eating.

I couldn't help but watch. Visions of him killing Raquel danced in my head. He doesn't look like he could hurt someone not even a fly with that baby face. Boy was I fooled. Looks can be deceiving as fuck.

Soon Travis, Devon, and that girl came back. They were talking loudly and laughing at whatever. Tyler and I were on the quiet side not bothering to want to get involved with the conversation.

Devon: Why you bums so quiet?

Tyler & I looked at each other again. Chills rushed through my body and I had to look away.

Devon: Y'all fucked didn't y'all?

Travis spit out his drink, the girl began laughing hysterically, Tyler looked at him confused, and I mugged the hell out of him.

Devon: I knew this would happen as soon as Zoe disappears y'all start having a thing going on.
Danielle: (offended) No Devon. We aren't doing that.
Devon: Sure y'all aren't.

He smirked and the girl continued laughing. He eventually joined her. I'm sure he was showing off for her. I felt really uncomfortable. Everyone was looking at us. Tyler was staring at me now with those black eyes. Next thing I know, I dipped out the auditorium and into the girls' restroom with Travis calling my name.

That was embarrassing. I feel like the whole school is going to think Tyler and I have a thing going on now. Thanks a lot, Devon. I went to the sink and turned on the faucet splashing water on my face. Why did I feel so embarrassed? Did I actually have a thing for Tyler?

I walked out of the bathroom a few minutes later wanting to head to class a bit earlier instead of facing them all again. I walked past my locker. I noticed something sticking out of it. I backtracked and went to see what it was. It was a piece of ripped paper. On it said: 'meet me at my place after school -T'. I wasn't ready for this talk at all. I wonder what he had on his mind. Nothing about this meet up seemed okay. I just hope I make it out alive at this point.
