"You're tailor-made for this era with a vulnerability to your appearance~"

As the music started to play from an unknown source, Miku began to perform the choreography she and I had practiced in the mirror of the dressing room a countless amount of times yesterday until we got it right. She sang her part of the song flawlessly, seeming pretty calm and collected. I rhythmically moved my body to the beat of the song with my arms out to my sides as I awaited my turn, locking my eyes onto the lens of the camera that was in front of us, recording our every move.

"Fooled by this truthful acting, your heart beats so very loudly~"

Even though it occurred to me before that it didn't work, I took my chances yet again. I kept my focus on the lens and blinked the morse code for 'SOS'. I liked to think that one day, somebody would notice my attempts at asking for help and somehow get Miku and I out of here and back into the real world. But so far, none of my attempts seemed to be drawing any attention to us or our situation at all. It's like whoever's watching us through that camera enjoys just seeing us suffer endlessly against our wills, day by day, with absolutely no way out. It hurt to think that someone was really just sitting there, taking some type of weird pleasure in our pain. Ignoring how tired we were of all this torment. It made me sick to my stomach how someone could even think of treating another person like this. It was inhumane.

I pushed my thoughts aside as I started singing my half of the chorus, using every bit of energy I had left in me to smile and sound exuberant for whatever audience was watching us.

"Your extra lives are quickly being lost

Your durability worn away~

Dodging matters right in front of you,

You've got your hands full just living!

Someone, please help?"

And with that, we both struck our final poses as everything went black. Not even a second later, a burst of comically bright thirteen-pointed stars filled my vision, and once that was over, it was finally Quiz Time.

Miku and I stood not too far away from each other, a white board resting on a short wooden easel between us. We had our arms out to our sides just like earlier, bouncing happily to the rhythm of the song. There were three little magnetic squares on the board, the first one having a black 'H' already drawn with a dry erase marker on it. The two beside it were empty.

I spotted said marker lying in the storage area part of the easel, so I picked it up and turned to our 'audience'.

"Alright, everyone! Which letters do you think go next in this sequence?" My attempts to keep my voice enthusiastic were just barely successful.

There was no answer. I didn't expect to hear anything anyways, the 'audience' here wasn't even real. I narrowed my eyes ever so slightly as I drew the letters 'A' and 'T' on the next squares.

"That's right! 'A' and 'T', which means the word was hat! Good job!" All of this was absolutely pointless. Miku and I were the only real people there, so who was I even supposed to be talking to?

We followed that same routine for the next few words, which were 'eraser', 'lemon', and 'phosphoribosylaminoimidazolesuccinocarbo'. I never understood what the last word was supposed to be.

Before Quiz Time ended and we were allowed to go on our 'break', I tried one last time to call for help. I used my left hand to flash the universal help sign, just like I did during the end of all those Quiz Times we had in the past. I honestly had no idea why I kept trying at this point. Nothing new ever happened, nobody ever came to save us. I was surprised that I still had hope left.
