My name is Laci Pemberton. I'm from a small town from Indiana before I decided that I wanted to move. I was staying with a few friends in upstate New York. I was going to fly out to California but got stranded at JFK International airport. But that was a little over a month ago. I found an apartment after a few days wandering around Brooklyn. It's now November, almost December. I met some of my neighbors. Trans Siberian Orchestra is playing in the background. Sammy (my upstairs neighbor) and I are currently talking when we hear knocking on my front door. I opened the door to find a man in his mid to late 50s. I smiled at him.

"Hello." I said

"Oh hey, Alex." Said Sammy

"Hey, Sammy." Says Alex

"Come in." I said

"Thank you." Says Alex

"Remember how I told you about that musician that lives across from you, Laci?" Asked Sammy

"Yes..... Wait no..." I said

"Yup." Says Sammy

"What instrument?" I asked

"Guitar." Says Alex

"Wait... You look familiar." I said

Alex tilted his head and looked at me. I told him that I will remember where I know him from. He notices that Trans-Siberian Orchestra playing. I told him that I am a fan of their work. He asked me what I do for a living. I told him that I'm currently with Lamb of God as their drummer.

"Wait a minute...." I said

"What now?" Asked Sammy

"You're... You're.... You're Alex Skolnick," I said, "of Testament and Alex Skolnick Trio."

"You're right." Says Alex

"No way," I said, "I'm a huge fan."

"Here we go again." Says Sammy

"You're my neighbor," I said, "and close friends to Randy."

"How is Randy?" Asked Alex

"Actually, he's doing great," I said, "we talked a little bit yesterday."

Sammy had to leave because she had to give medicine to her cat. Alex asked me how I knew about his jazz trio. I told him that I love jazz as much as I love heavy metal and classic rock. I also told him that I was in the school band as a drummer. I went and poured some drinks for us.

"So Lamb of God huh?" Asked Alex, "how did you become their new drummer?"

"Oh," I said, "a friend of mine told me about an audition."

"Oh really?"

"Yea, it's amazing. I get to play with one of my favorite bands."

"So you know of me?"

"Of course, I love Testament."

We continued to talk for a while before he had to check on his cats. I decided to clean up a little bit after Alex. I laid down on my bed and mumbled to myself. My phone started to ring. It was my dad, Benjamin.

"Hey, dad." I said

"Hey, sweetie. How's New York?" Asked my dad

"Busy."

"Still not used to it huh?"

"You can say that."

"It's going to be okay, sweetie."

"Thanks dad."

"Met anyone new?"

"Yea, actually."

"Who?"
