I was happily eating my cheeseburger when my phone ring disturbed me. I decided to ignore it but the caller was far more persistence than I thought.
I groaned before seeing who was calling me. It was rare for me to eat something greasy considering how bad it is for my throat as a singer. Today was my cheat day, and this person, my idiotic best friend, is hindering this also.
"What do you want?" I asked rather harshly to pick up the phone. But no, I was not even an ounce in guilt because this man is ruining my food time. And food is life.
"Hello to you too, B." His tone was highly sarcastic as he replied to me. I rolled my eyes at that. Not that he could see. "What do you want Arhaan. Go and spout." I say taking a bit from my cheesy delicacy, putting the call on speaker.
"Fine whatever. I didn't call you to time pass. It's an urgent matter. And I need your help. Please B. You can't deny me." I heard him, almost pleading to me and I stopped in my tracks. I wiped my face quickly and hold the phone against my ears, putting it off the speaker. "What is it A?" I asked, now concerned.
"I know whatever I am going to ask you is a bit too much, and your might curse me after that, but just listen to me. Okay. Don't get mad." He said and his words were making my heart beat like crazy. What was it?
"Just tell me already what it is. Stop creating suspense." I say, rather restlessly. His words were doing an amazing job in driving me insane. I swear if this is just a bad joke I will-
"Become my brother's wife." His words shut down my brain for a while. I froze on my spot, staring in front of me at my living room wall.
I didn't realise how long it was that I was frozen until Arhaan's voice brought me back on earth. "Back to earth, B!! Hello??" He asked me, and I flinched before gasping.
"You ...A...what?" I was quite dumbfounded. I didn't even know what and why did he say something like this suddenly. Heck, I didn't even know if he was serious or if it was some kind of a bad joke.
"Calm down B. I know this is a lot to take. But you need to help me. You are literally my only hope. I need you to pretend to be my brother's wife. Or future wife on that instance." Now that he clarified, his words made me frown.
What was he saying.
"Which brother? And....what do you mean by pretending? I can't understand anything A. Explain me please." Somehow I knew that it wasn't a prank, from Arhaan's tone.
On the other hand, he took a deep breath before he started narrating the whole incident.
"So I will start from the start. Agastya and Tina broke up." He said and his words made me sigh. It wasn't anything new. After all, it's Agastya Goyal we are talking about. He can never do relationships.
"Ok. And ?" I asked further.
"And now Tina claims that she is pregnant with his child." Now this made my eyes wide and I stood up from my seat in shock. As far as I know, Agastya wasn't someone to be so careless to get in such a situation.
