What lies in the Past

Morning runs are my thing, they help me clear my mind and that's exactly what I needed today.
Today is my first day on the job, it's nothing great but good enough for a first job, I don't wanna be someone who gets everything they want just because they come from a rich background. I wanna earn my place in a room.

Returning from the run, I entered the main house where mom was doing something on her ipad and dad was reading newspaper.

"Morning maa, morning papa"
"Morning bete" both said in unison
"So, first day huh! How do you feel?" Papa asked
"Ready papa."
"Not nervous" this time it was mom
"Nahi maa, I know mujhe apni life se kya chahie ye toh uska first step hain, or jab sab decide kr rakha hain toh nervousness kis baat ki"
" Confidence is a good thing but beta bhoolna mat ye life hai, jaisa tum decide kro waisa hi ho zaroori nhi, life is unpredictable yet full of surprises. All I am trying to say is thodi uncertainty kharab nahi hoti"
"Teri mumma bilkul theek bol rhi hain, maina kabhi nahi socha tha ki aaj ek itni badi company khadi kr dunga, mujhe toh laga tha poori zindagi ek employee banke nikalunga, not that it's wrong or anything just not for me"
"I understand papa, maa and I respect your opinion but vo dialogue nahi h 'jis cheez ko poori chiddat se chaho poori kayenat tumhe usse milane mai lag jaati hai' bas waise hi mera ye sapna ya aim bhi keh sakte ho, usko mai poori chiddat se chahta hoon" I said in a light tone to lighten the environment.
"O mere filmy bete vo like pyaar ke context mai likhi gyi thi kaam ke nhi, buddhu"
"Ya ya maa but u know na aaj kal ki generation mai pyaar bacha hi kahan hain toh bas kaam se hi pyaar kr liya maine"
"Beta zindagi kab palat jaye pata nahi chalta, zara sambhalke"
"Arrey subha subha shuru ho gyi aap dono ki philosophy" came my brother's voice in the background
"Morning maa, morning papa" she said settling next to me
"Morning beta"
"Arey jab bhaiya ne decide kr hi liya hai celibate rehne ka toh kyu peeche pade ho, or waise bhi agar by chance inka man badal bhi jaye toh konsi ladki inke saath reh payegi"
"Tu zyada nahi bol rha hai, baat toh aise kr rha hain jaise patani kitni hi gf ho ya kitni hi ladkiyan marti ho tujhpe"
"Acha bas bhi kro tum dono, Raghav ja ready hoke aaja fir tujhe nikalna bhi hai, or Rey tu bhi chal jaake nahake aa tujhe bhi toh college jana hain."
"Haan maa" we said in unison
"Acha maa suno aaj mujhe tiffin dena, Suhani apne chachu ke ghar se aa gayi hain or aapke haath ke khaane ki demand aayi hain"
"Hearing her name my legs stopped on its place"
Suhani was my brother's best friend since 9th standard and since then these two have been inseparable, at one point all three of us were very close but idk what happened she just stopped talking to me and now whenever we meet she acts like a stranger like I am nothing to her other than her best friend's big bro.

We used to be so close like the three Musketeers but now...
