VEDA'S POVI'd wrapped up the filming and rushed to meet Isa for a coffee at the truck by the garage before returning to watch the race. We took a seat next to each other right in front of one of the large monitors, just in time for the formation lap.
The start had been nothing big, most drivers managing to maintain their spot up until the third turn where there were a few overtakes, none in the top half of the grid though.
By lap 34 I'd pulled out my camera to look through the footage from before, rushing to my room to get my laptop and transfer the content before returning to my seat.
Isa looked over my shoulder curiously, emitting the scent of some expensive fragrance. "What are you working on?"
I wasn't sure if i was meant to disclose the project so decided to keep it to myself just in case. "A small project with Ferrari."
"All of Ferrari or just Charles?" She'd raised a brow at me, the ghost of a smile on her lips as she looked at all the photos. Every single one had leclerc as the main subject.
I cringed at the fact that my computer was now filled with his photos, hundreds of them from all sorts of angles. "Uhm, yeah?"
"Warming up to the reckless driver are we?" She gave me a wink before drawing her attention back to the race.
I only chuckled, going back to editing a few of the photos and picking some to post. Bree had suggested we start hinting at the project on social media and now felt like a good time to get started on that.
I selected a few snapshots of some of the footage, editing them as i waited for the last laps of the race.
Time had passed by awfully fast as i did so and I hadn't even realized they were a mere two laps left until Bree tapped my shoulder to let me know I should get ready to go to the podium with the rest of the Ferrari team to celebrate his win.
I'd visibly gasped "Win?"
She sighed. "Have you not been watching?" Then she caught sight of my laptop. "Oh."
Surely enough, Charles had taken the lead of the race. Somehow I'd been able to block out the cheers of the engineers.
I closed the laptop, setting it to the side before following the rest of the team to congratulate him on his win.
Liam had come from nowhere, placing a hand on my back to lead me to the front of the ecstatic crowd.
He leaned to talk in my ear, the commotion hardly allowing me to hear him as he said, "you should be in the front to get better shots of the celebration for the video series."
I nodded, letting him lead me to the front just as the cars started crossing the finish line. The team roared in joy and I got some footage of them too. The cheering, the hugging, the clapping, the smiles, all of it.
My camera followed Charles as he approached his team getting engulfed in a sea of joy immediately as he received pats on the back and hugs. I got it all on film with a smile, the sight being awfully exciting.
As Charles' eyes fell on me I could see as he visibly tensed, stiffening at the sight of the camera. I lowered it immediately, not wanting to ruin the moment for him as much as that would have also brought me joy.
