Chapter 1

I remember coming home completely exhausted from work one night and of course as soon as I walk in the house I'm bombarded with my mother, Riley, and my stepdad, David.

Some say it changed me for the worse, I'd argue it was for the better.

Flashback

14 year old Domênico

I had just got done dealing with someone who was trying to rat me out so I was just looking forward to my shower and a good night sleep.

"Son, I need some money." My mother said and the smell of her beer breath made me feel nauseous. Matter of fact the whole fucking house reeked of booze.

I was slightly affronted that she needed money too, I just gave her money last week.

"I gave you the rent already."

"No not that, I need some for myself to get some things."

David grumbled and went to go slouch on the couch. He was a lazy fuck. He was either asleep or watching tv while drinking a beer. I honestly don't even think he showers.

"I already got all the groceries." I droned. I wasn't dumb, okay. I knew what she wanted the money for. She just wasn't getting it from me.

"Son! Please, I just need it."

I looked at her for a moment, "Your not getting it from me."

"Boy, just give the women the money. If no secret that you gave it." Great, now David decides to nudge his way in.

"I'm tried, I'm going to bed."

"Nico!" David hissed. He stood up and I sighed.

David may look bigger but it's only because he's completely out of shape with his beer belly. I work out daily and nightly if I can squeeze it in. I'll have to problem taking him.

However he does know that.

That day I left everything and never looked back. That day changed me forever. That day still burdens me.

"Daddy!" My girl yelled when I walked through the front door of my mansion.

"Hey, snow girl." I said, with a smile, picking her up and placing her on my hip.

"How was your day?" I asked after smothering her with kisses.

She giggled , her cheeks having a pink tint. "My day was good, we did lots of art and crafts."

She went on shot what her favorite subject of the day was while I was inventively listening while I made my way to the back yard.

"Daddy!" My boy exclaimed, running towards me.

I picked him up and placed him on the other side of Winter.

"Hey, piccolo orso (little bear)." I kissed and smothered him with the same amount of affection I showed for Winter.

"Daddy, I just finished my ecosystem it's so cool!" Reign

"Is that so?" I chuckled.

Before he could explain, my kids nanny, Elena, comes out the backyard. "Hello dear, I've cleaned up the little mess so you don't have to worry about it." She said nicely.

Elena has been working for me for about 3 years, she started off as a housekeeper and the I asked if she would be willing to help with my kids. She is a wonderful women, she's getting old so I don't think she could be here longer than I would like, but the kids should be starting school by that time so we'll be okay.

"Alright kiddos, Auntie El will see you tomorrow." She said, smiling warmly at them.

"Thank you El, you're a lifesaver."

She waves me off and heads to the front door to head to her husband.

"Goodnight, my troubles." I whispered after putting on their pajamas, winter had Elsa pjs and Reign had Toy Story pjs.

They giggled and said their good nights to me.

I shut off the light and headed into my room. It has been a long day at work. I had been working nonstop since I've become Don of the Italian mafia. It gets exhausting but honestly I wouldn't want it any other way.

I fucking love the power it gives me, especially running the most elite mafia. It makes me feel fucking great that I'm the reason it's elite.

After a take a shower I go into my office and check a few thing before shutting it off and going back to my bedroom to get some shut eye.

I lay under the covers completely out of energy and soon go into sleep.

I flinch out of sleep and rush out my room to two loud screams.

"Daddy!" I hear Winter scream.

I ran as fast as I fucking can to where I hear her voice.

When I get to the twins bedroom I look frantically around for my children.

"What's wrong!?" I yelled.

"Daddy, Reigny isn't here." My daughter cried out.

She's sobbing by the window, and what catches my eye is the red print on her cheek.

"Sweetheart, what happened?" I said.

I need to call my men fast but first I need to know what the fuck is going on.

"A man was here and took him while we were sleeping, I tried to fight him off but he hit me, I'm sorry I wasn't strong like you daddy, I'm sorry!" She sobbed,

"Baby, come here." I quickly picked her up when she ran towards me and I went to the technology on the wall. Unfortunately I didn't have time to console Winter, I needed to have my men searching immediately.

Just when my call ended my soldiers came bursting through the entire Mansion. Cars coming into the driveway in a frenzy.

I quickly walk downstairs and get into my awaiting car, my driver has already installed the car seat so I buckle a whimpering winter in her seat and take the passenger seat of the car.

"Boss, I've received information that your son was taken by the American Mafia." My driver, Javier, informed me.

"Mother fucker!"

We get to my private airplane fast, I speed through getting Winter out the seat and go straight for the entrance.

"I'm so sorry daddy." My sweet girl whimpered out of her sleep.

I take a seat in the back of the plane in the bedroom, "Baby girl, don't you ever apologize for something you had no control over. I'm sorry if you were thinking that the whole time, but daddy was just trying to get us out of there." I said solemnly, giving her a forehead kiss.

"Sir, here is an ointment for her cheek." Said the flight attendant.

I thank her and take the ointment and start applying it carefully for Winter.

"I love you daddy, will we see Bubby soon?" She said after I finished applying the ointment.

"Of course, my love, I will do whatever it takes to bring him home."
