This was godly law, and there was no tragedy more painful and agonizing than the war between Yoi and Waru, which resulted in many casualties, including a small village left with only one survivor, the newly proclaimed god of death
Izuku, god of death, also known as the weeping emerald, was only a child when they were taken away from their family to be a slave, and they weren't much older when the village they were forced to serve, was completely destroyed right in front of them
It was Shimura, the now former goddess of death, who took Izuku into her custody, raising them as her own, teaching them to take Shimura's place, and showing them the horrors of being the god of death, which resulted in Izuku taking her place once her time was up. . .
Because of their appearance, Izuku was known among mortals as 'The Weeping Emerald Death', they would lead lost souls to be judged by the gods, whether they were fair or not, mattered not to Izuku
For almost 50 years, Izuku traveled the world, guiding spirits and answering prayers, with no sense of bliss, they were seemingly emotionless and only did what was asked of them, they only showed sympathy to unhuman things
Yet there was one mortal, a mercenary, who Izuku continued to constantly watch from afar, he was a human, surrounded by death, he served only those who hired him, but wouldn't hesitate to betray that hire for someone richer
It remained unnoticed to Izuku that they had fallen in love with the mortal called 'Hitoshi Shinso', even so, they stayed as far away as they could, without knowing the danger Izuku had put Shinso in . . .
