I ran as fast as I could, I heard the approaching police sirens. Total darkness, I couldn't see anything in front of me I realized a long time ago that my boyfriend was no longer behind me, but there was no turning back.

I bumped into someone. I couldn't hear the sirens anymore.  "God, I hope it's not the police," I thought before I lifted my head up and met her eyes.
