Here is the prologue :
The rain poured down like a relentless curtain, shrouding the city in a misty veil. Detective Ishaani Rai Singhania stood at the edge of the crime scene, her eyes fixed on the lifeless body before her.
The victim was a young woman, no more than twenty-five, with piercing green eyes that seemed to stare into the soul. Maya felt a shiver run down her spine as she gazed into those eyes, a sense of unease settling in the pit of her stomach.
This was the third murder in as many weeks, each victim bearing the same eerie signature: a small, silver crescent moon carved into their left cheek.
Ishaani's mind raced with questions. What was the killer's motive? What connected these victims? And why did she feel an inexplicable sense of connection to this case?
As she gazed into the victim's eyes, Ishaani felt a whisper in her ear, a soft, raspy voice that sent shivers down her spine.
"You're getting close, Detective. But you'll never see me coming."
Ishaani spun around, but there was no one there. The voice seemed to come from all around her, echoing off the rain-soaked streets.
She knew then that this case would be different. This killer was toying with her, playing a twisted game of cat and mouse.
And Ishaani was ready to play.
