THE CHAMPION 14
it's saturday night and i hear a knock at my door. i go downstairs, to see my dad has already answered it.
"hello lamine, how are you?" my dad asks him, letting him inside.
"yeah, i'm good, thanks for asking sir," lamine replies.
"hey dad, me and lamine are going out, ill see you later," i tell him, giving him a kiss on the cheek and grabbing lamines hand.
"oh, ok, have fun," he tells us, as we walk out of the house.
the restaurant we are going to is only a five minute walk so we just decide it's easier to go on foot then get marc to take us.
we arrive at the restaurant, sitting down and looking at the menu.
"so, bobby, how are you?" lamine asks me, folding his menu back up and placing it down on the table.
"i mean honesty, im buzzing, don't wanna like drag it on but i've actually fancied you for ages so yeah, glad we are finally here," i smile, looking at the boy.
he stares at me for a moment, before responding.
"your smile is so beautiful."
"thanks lamine," i laugh, he's being all sweet and it's so funny, i mean obviously he's sweet all the time, but he's being extra sweet tonight.
the waitress comes up to us, asking if we are ready to order our food.
we place our order, and she goes off into the kitchen.
our food arrives, we eat it, and then lamine says something i was not expecting at all.
"hey, bobby, i get this is only a first date and all but you have genuinely made my life so much better in the time i have known you, you are easily my best friend, and it's fine if not, but do you wanna be my girlfriend?" he asks me.
i almost choke on my drink. i was NOT expecting this so soon, but honestly im glad he wants to skip the talking stage because nothing is worse than being stuck in a talking stage being scared to pop the question.
"oh my god, i mean, i wasn't expecting that so soon, but yes lamine, i would love to be your girlfriend!" i exclaim, shocked and excited at the same time.
