Daphne POV

"Something about her personality felt so vivid and relatable. Billie just has an aurora to her that feels so... real. And that's why we should go to the Billie Eilish Concert, Daphne" Grace said to me, she has been my best friend since 8th grade. She was wearing a baggy black jacket, platform shoes and a tight black dress and I could tell by her puppy dog eyes that she wanted me to take a break from taking care of my sister Lily, but I couldn't just take a break.. Ever since my mom died I have been the guardian of Lily. Luckily today Lily was having a 2 day sleepover at her bestfriends house so Grace and I would be hanging out all weekend.

"Who the hell is Billie Eilish anyway?" I questioned, immediately Grace's jaw dropped; she looked starstruck, but I couldn't understand why.

"Only the greatest singer of all time!! Also how the hell do you not know who she is; she is literally the 3rd biggest artist on spotify right now!" She shouted, with a surprise look on her face, but my facial expression was the same confused face.

"I'm definitely taking you to her concert now!" Grace said eagerly, now hugging me. We were in a coffee shop waiting in line to order. The coffee shop was filled with paintings, random junk and had high ceilings. It also had plants hanging from the light, making it feel very homey.

"I'm not so sure about that, someone will have to take care of Lily..." I sighed, feeling a frown form on my face, but her bright expression didn't change at all.

"Don't worry Daphne I can hire a babysitter to take care of Lily" Grace said, but I was still unsure if I should accept the invitation, but with her puppy dog eyes and her hands clasped together who couldn't say no..

"Ok, I'll go!" I said, I don't know who this 'Billie Eilish girl 'is... but I have a gut feeling I should go to this concert. I could see the excitement in Graces as she hugged me and started jumping up and down.

"Eeek! I'm so excited! The concert is next weekend by the way!" She said, continuing to jump up and down, while hugging me.

"Hello, what would you like to order today?" The barista asked, we didn't realize we were first in line, so we both had to walk a few steps forward to get to her.

"Hi, can we please get 2 espressos to go!" I asked, as Grace paid for our drinks; it was her turn this week. As my eyes began to wander I noticed the barista had long blonde hair and was wearing a black apron. She seemed very masculine; with her baggy pants and big oversized t - shirt; as I looked at her up and down, a smirk formed on her face; making me blush.

"Like what you see?" She said flirtatiously, making me blush more.

"Wouldn't be looking at you like that if I didn't," I whispered to her, feeling a smirk form on my face "What's your phone number?" she asked, she seemed nervous unsure if I would say yes; it surprised me because she was hot as fuck, who wouldnt want her number!

"Yeah sure, it's 911," I said,

"I'll text you later!" She said, winking at me as she gave us our espressos. I could see Grace smirking at me in the corner of my eye. As we began to make our way out of the store I could feel that Grace had something to say about the whole Barista situation.

"I'm happy you got her number, maybe you'll finally have some fun; if you know what I mean.." Grace whispered to me, I started to blush; feeling my face get hotter, but of course Grace just looked at me smiling.

"Shut up," I joked, pushing her shoulder playfully.

As we continued to walk around the neighborhood, I felt a sense of excitement brewing within me. Grace and I hadn't had a carefree weekend in a long time, and her enthusiasm was contagious. The idea of the concert was starting to grow on me, even if I didn't know Billie Eilish. Grace's insistence and the unexpected encounter with the barista made me realize that maybe I did need a break, a chance to just be myself and not worry about responsibilities for a little while.

We wandered into a nearby park, the air warm and inviting. Children played on swings, and couples strolled hand in hand. Grace and I found a bench and sat down, sipping our espressos.

"So, tell me more about this Billie Eilish," I said, genuinely curious now. Grace's face lit up, and she launched into a passionate explanation about Billie's music, her unique style, and how her lyrics resonated with so many people.

"She's just so authentic," Grace said, her eyes sparkling. "Her music makes you feel things, you know? It's like she's speaking directly to you."

I nodded, feeling a twinge of anticipation. Maybe this concert would be exactly what I needed. A chance to step out of my routine and experience something new and exciting.

As the afternoon sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the park, I felt a sense of calm. Maybe things were looking up. Maybe this weekend would be a turning point.

"I'm really looking forward to it now," I admitted, smiling at Grace.

"Me too," she said, squeezing my hand. "It's going to be amazing."

And for the first time in a long while, I felt a spark of hope. This weekend, I was going to let go, have fun, and embrace the unknown.
