The hall was filled with light and laughter as guests gathered to celebrate the wedding. Isabella, the maid of honor, took a deep breath, preparing for her speech.

Her heart ached as she looked at Laura, her sister, the happy bride, and Alex, the groom, the man she had once shared a connection with at a party. She remembered that night vividly—his smile, their brief but intense connection, and how her heart had skipped a beat. It was easily love at first sight. She loved everything about him: his mannerisms, his brown hair, his hypnotic green eyes. She wanted him. She needed him. But those feelings were not returned. Instead, he chose Laura.

Isabella could see it in his eyes, he was deeply in love with Laura. Every time they talked, he was always talking about Laura, asking her about Laura, and everything was about Laura. She felt betrayed. She was hurt, but she accepted it, she accepted that he won't love her, so She helped him get closer to Laura, introduced him to Laura, but deep down she wished it all would fail and he would come to her instead. In the end, her help worked, and now Laura and Alex were marrying, and she was their maid of honor.

As she approached the podium, her emotions surged. Brief flashes of their shared moments—the warmth of his hand on hers, the laughter they shared when planning to get him get closer to Laura with stupid movies cliche—flooded her mind.

She glanced at laura, glowing in her wedding dress, and then at jack, who seemed oblivious to the quiet struggle behind Isabella’s calm facade. She remembered how their shared joy had turned to silent sacrifice.

With a trembling voice, she began, “ladies and gentlemen today we celebrate a love that has brought us all together. A love shared by my dear sister laura, and my best friend Jack"

Her voice wavered and she paused, her eyes momentarily misting as she fought to keep her emotions in check. The weight of her unspoken feelings pressed heavily on her heart.

she continued, her voice wavered alot,“Though my heart feels heavy, of letting my sister go seeing my sister so happy fills me with genuine joy.” she lied, her heart feel heavy not because of letting her sister go, but because of letting her love go.

She looked back at the couple, her expression softening with a mix of sorrow and warmth. The promise she had made to support her sister, despite her own heartache, guided her words.

“To Laura and jack,” Isabella said, her voice full of sincerity with a hint of sadness, “may your life together be as beautiful and full of love as this day.” she let out a tear.. but is it a tear of happiness or sadness?
