Sorry for that short chapter! I just really wanted to get to our oblivious queen's POV!
Sophie's POV:
Sophie fidgeted with her Ruewen crest as she followed Fitz into his massive bedroom. He had bookshelves full of books, no wonder he's so smart! His lush bed had a silky teal blanket the looked so comfy, Sophie just wanted to jump into it and wrap herself into a fluff cocoon. But the highlight of the bedroom was the crystal chandelier that hung from roof. It glittered with different shades of teal, depending on which way you looks at it.
The true view, however, was the beautiful pair of teal eyes Fitz had. Fitz motioned for her to sit beside him on the bed. Sophie was hesitant at first, but slowly made her way next to Fitz. He scooted closer. Sophie felt her face turn fire hot. "Sophie... I have something to tell you," Fitz began. "I- I- have some complicated feelings towards you" he continued.
Sophie was confused. Then she was scared. Did he not like her back the was she liked him? Had she liked Fitz too obviously and Fitz was disgusted? "Oh nooo, no, no," she thought, when Fitz opened his mouth to say more. But he didn't. Instead, he pulled her in for a kiss.
Sophie jumped back in shock, but immediately wished she hadn't when she saw the hurt in Fitz's beautiful eyes. "Sorry, I was-" Sophie began to explain, but Fitz cut her off. "No, no, don't apologize. You didn't do anything wrong, what I did was stupid," he mumbled, quickly.
"No, Fitz! I swear, I didn't mean it like that! I was just surprised- in- in a good way! Fitz, I've like you since the first day I saw you. And I was just overwhelmed because, you know," Sophie didn't finish her sentence, because Fitz swooped in and kissed her again.
Sophie has always wondered what it would be like to kiss Fitz. The seconds their lips touched, she felt like her heart would explode. Kissing Fitz was every bit as good as she imagined, and she could feel his minty breath on her face. But, though his good looks, good kissing skills, good eyes, something felt... wrong.
