"Why did you hide this from me, baby? At the very least, you should have told me about our babies. It is killing me to stay away from you," Tae whispered to himself, his voice trembling with anguish as he continued to gaze up at the ceiling, his eyes overflowing with tears. "I promise, my love, we will be together again in just a few days. I will bring an end to Mark's chapter once and for all, and then we can finally have the happy life we've dreamed of—you, me, and our little fruits of love."

New York, Early Morning

Jung-Sook lay curled in her cozy bed, the cold of the New York winter kept at bay by the thick layers of blankets surrounding her. The early morning light filtered through the window, casting a soft glow in the room. Just as she was about to drift back to sleep, a knock at the door startled her awake. Groggy and reluctant, she trudged to the door, yawning as she reached for the handle.

As she opened the door, her heart skipped a beat. Standing there, looking as handsome as ever, was Kim Taehyung. The shock of seeing him here, in New York, left her momentarily speechless."Tae," she finally managed, her voice filled with disbelief. "What are you doing here?"

"Surprise, my dear wifey," he said with a cheeky grin, stepping inside and closing the door behind him.

Jung-Sook's mind whirled with confusion and emotion. "Tae, what are you doing here? We agreed to meet in different places, so how... now?"

Taehyung's expression softened as he reached out, gently placing a hand on her belly. "You kept this a secret from me," he said softly, a mix of wonder and mild reproach in his voice. "I had to come."

Jung-Sook felt a pang of guilt and joy simultaneously. Tears welled up in her eyes as she placed her hand over his, feeling the warmth of his touch. "I was afraid, Tae," she confessed. "I'm afraid that you'd take them away and leave me."

Taehyung's eyes widened, a mix of shock and hurt flashing across his face. "Why would I ever leave you, the love of my life?"

Jung-Sook bit her lip, the memory of their last encounter flooding back.

Flashback: Taehyung's Birthday
It was Taehyung's birthday, and Jung-Sook had made a decision. Despite the pain it caused her, she planned to leave him, convinced that he had betrayed her. Yet she couldn't bear to leave without one final touch, one last memory.

Quietly, she approached him as he stood by the window, lost in thought. She placed a gentle kiss on his lips, savoring the bittersweet moment. As she turned to leave, tears streaming down her face, she whispered, "I thought I was the only one for you. Then why did you break me like this?"

Her sobs grew louder, and she sank to her knees, overwhelmed by emotion. Suddenly, she felt his arms around her, and she flinched, startled to find him standing there, shirtless, looking at her with a mixture of confusion and concern.

"Jung-Sook," he murmured, holding her gently. "Why are you running away? From me, from our family?"

She looked up at him, tears in her eyes. "I saw you," she said, her voice trembling. "With another woman, at the pub and in the parking lot. The texts, the conversations... You were cheating on me."

Taehyung's eyes widened in shock. "You saw all that?" he asked, disbelief in his voice. "It's not what you think. I was just trying to protect you."

Jung-Sook's tears fell harder, confusion and hurt warring within her. "Protect me? How?"

Taehyung took a deep breath, his expression serious. "There's a danger around us, Jung-Sook. A spy in our family. I had to act to keep you safe. The kiss was a mistake, an accident. I'd never betray you, not in a million years."

The weight of his words began to lift the fog of misunderstanding. Jung-Sook felt a flicker of hope as she looked into his eyes, seeing the sincerity there. She threw her arms around him, her relief palpable. "I'm so sorry, Tae. I should've trusted you."

He held her close, stroking her hair soothingly. "I'm sorry too for not telling you. But I had to keep you safe. I needed to find out who the spy was."

She pulled back slightly, looking up at him. "What do we do now?"

"You have to leave," he said reluctantly. "There's still danger, and until I find out who's behind this, you need to be somewhere safe."

Jung-Sook's heart ached at the thought of leaving him, but she knew he was right. With a heavy heart, she nodded. "Okay. But promise me we'll meet again soon."

Taehyung smiled, kissing her softly. "I promise. Just a month, maybe a little more. Then we'll be together."

With a final embrace and promises of love, Jung-Sook left, boarding the plane with tears in her eyes but hope in her heart.

End of Flashback

**Back in New York**

Taehyung looked at Jung-Sook with a tender gaze, his hand still resting on her belly. "I always wanted a family with you. And now we're having one."

Jung-Sook felt tears of relief and happiness welling up again. "I was so afraid, Tae. Afraid you'd take them away and leave me."

Taehyung shook his head, his expression softening. "I'd never do that. You're my life, Jung-Sook. I'd give up everything for you."

She cried again, overwhelmed by his words and the depth of his love. "I'm sorry I doubted you," she whispered.

He pulled her close, wrapping her in his warmth. "I'm sorry too, for everything. I should've been there more for you. But now, let's focus on us and our future."

Jung-Sook nodded, a smile breaking through her tears. "Yes. Let's do that." In the quiet of the winter morning, with the snow gently falling outside, they stood together, their hearts full of hope and the promise of new beginnings.
