NOTTI OSAMA
———————————————————————You and Ethan had been tight since you were kids. Growing up in the same neighborhood, you shared everything, from secrets to dreams. Lately, though, things had been different. The casual touches lingered longer, and the playful banter had a new, electric edge.
One evening, you found yourself in the studio with Ethan. You were sitting on the couch, scrolling through your phone while he worked on a new track. Every now and then, he would glance over at you, a cheeky grin playing on his lips.
"yo, you feelin' this beat?" he asked, pulling off his headphones.
"Yeah, it's fire," you replied, looking up at him. "You've been killin' it lately."
Ethan walked over and sat beside you, his leg pressing against yours. "Thanks ma, that means a lot comin' from you."
You felt a blush creep up your cheeks. "You're just sayin' that." you replied, with a playful smile.
He shook his head, leaning in closer. "Nah, I mean it."
Before you knew it, his lips were on yours. The kiss was soft at first, almost hesitant, but quickly grew more intense. You wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him closer as he deepened the kiss.
Suddenly, the studio door burst open. A girl you didn't recognize walked in, her eyes lighting up when she saw Ethan.
"Notti!" she squealed, running over and wrapping her arms around him. "I missed you!"
Ethan looked shocked, his arms stiff at his sides as she clung to him. "Jasmine, what are you doing here?"
You felt a pang of jealousy as she kept touching him, acting like they were a couple. Before Ethan could push her away, security came in and escorted her out.
"Get her outta here," Ethan said, his voice laced with irritation. As soon as the door closed, he turned to you. "I'm sorry about that, she's just—"
"It's okay," you interrupted, trying to keep your voice steady. "We're not dating anyway, so it doesn't matter."
Ethan's face fell, hurt flashing in his eyes. "Don't say that."
You looked away, the hurt evident in your voice. "It's true, though. We're just friends, right?"
You grabbed your things and left the studio, your heart heavy. Ethan tried to call after you, but you didn't stop. You needed some time to process everything.
Later that night, you were sitting in your room, scrolling through your phone, trying to distract yourself. Suddenly, there was a knock at your door. You opened it to find Ethan standing there, holding a bag of your favorite snacks and a bouquet of flowers.
"Hey," he said softly, looking genuinely sorry. "Can I come in?"
You hesitated for a moment but then stepped aside to let him in. He walked in and set the stuff down on your bed.
"Baby, I need to explain," he began. "That girl? She's just a crazy ex. She means nothing to me, I swear."
You sat down on the edge of your bed, feeling a mix of emotions. "Ethan, why didn't you tell me before?"
"I didn't think she'd show up like that," he admitted, sitting beside you. "But listen, I don't want there to be any misunderstandings. You're the one I care about."
You looked into his eyes, seeing nothing but sincerity. "Really?"
He nodded, taking your hands in his. "Really. I've wanted to ask you this for a while, but I was scared. Will you be my girlfriend?"
A smile tugged at your lips as you felt your heart swell. "Yes, Ethan. I will."
He grinned and leaned in to kiss you, this time with all the passion and certainty he had. You kissed him back, knowing this was just the beginning of something beautiful.
