The wind was blowing up his hair. She used to like it short, he clearly remember that she used to rub his scalp whenever she's please, or whenever she praise him for the job well done. He smiled. It was too long ago yet he remembered clearly like it was yesterday. He tried to forget everything about her, but he wouldn't go away. She wouldn't go away. So he had quit trying to get her off his mind. He still have the things that the she have given her, including the ring that he have and part of him still wishes that she still have his.
"You sure do think a lot" a man called. He was surprise with the sudden interruption he sat bolt-upright.
'No I was not' he said smiling. Greg was like a father to him. When he first got the job he was sure that he can adapt immediately. He was so wrong. His first few months on the cruise were emotionally heart wrecking and mentally exhausting. Being away from the ones you love does that. One time he was so drunk and lonely he almost felt like jumping on the water.
They lay there on the ship's floor. He knows that the old man was staring at him.
'How come that I always feel like you were hiding something from me boy? He asked.
'I do not. There are just things that I don't want to talk about' he answered. He knows any moment he will ask him to tell him everything. He needed an escape.
'I better check the stocks that we have for tomorrow.' He said almost immediately Greg chuckled.
'You really wanted to get away from me don't you?' he was laughing at his awkwardness. Damn he remembered her again. He used to laugh at him whenever he was cornered.
'Go there boy before I can change my mind.' And so he ran as fast as he could.
Greg remained there staring at the cloudless night. The boy reminds himself when he was young, and he sure doesn't want him to be like him. He has to do something about it. But first he needed to get to know him better. He got up because he has a soul to save.Alberta was panicking .so it's true they are back and they are back and it heaven knows when they are going to be in her front door. All this time she thought they were safe, and now she realizes how wrong she was. Her daughter and she will never be freed from the mistake that she committed before. She wondered if Flonne will ever get over this. She doubts that. All this time her daughter was her rock. She have been so strong and handled everything for them when her father passed away. She can't take it if her daughter will be dealing with family issues again. She cannot afford to see her daughter grieve again because of loss. She has to be a mother this time. She called Harold, Harley's dad.
Harold was scanning all his mails. Nothing was unusual. He still have those letters for interview or be a cover in a food magazine, letters of his boss wanting him to return for work, all sorts of garbage. When will they realize that he is not coming back anymore? He has given up being a chef when he turned to be a celebrity instead of being a man in a kitchen that loves to feed people. He have given up when people have judge him on what he looks like, that what his food's like. Even her wife thinks that it was an upgrade of his career, he wouldn't agree and in the end their differences tore them apart. He lost his wife, his career and purpose in life. He moved to this town with his son to get away with all the chaos in showbiz. His phone is ringing it was Alberta. His heart stops a beat. That's the feeling she was giving her. He was
'Hey Honey' he greeted. There was silence on the other line. HONEY how can he be so stupid to call her that? She doesn't even know what's going on with him.
When she started talking he knows she was. 'What happen?' he was asking. She was referring to the problem that she has discussed with him weeks ago.
'Have you told Flonne about it?' he asked. 'No, I can't tell her. Telling her will means hating me' he sounded so scared he was fighting an urge to drive at her house and hug her.
'What if that's not the case? Flonne was a mature girl, she can surely understand. You just have to just her that she will Alberta. She deserves to know the truth.' He reasoned out. 'But she doesn't deserve to be hurt and deal with this either. She should not be involve with this' she said.
'I'll help you. Don't worry I'll keep them away for as long as I could' he assured her.
'Thank you. I know you'll help me.' She said kindly.
'I'll do everything to protect the two of you. Are the buddies at your place now? He asked changing the topic.
'No they're not. Might be at Fionna's place' she replied. She sounded cheered up now.
'Right. I'll just send him a message then. You go ahead and rest, you don't want Flonne hyped up about you. How about a Dark Forest Cake to cheer you up' he asked her a question she know she couldn't resist. She laughs for the first time in almost half an hour.
'I might have been on diet but I can make some exemptions' she answered. He smiled.
After she hangs up, he called one of his friends.
'Hey brother' he greeted him after the first ring. 'Anyone you would like to keep at a bay this time?' the man on the other line asked.
